Robinson Crusoe in the 'Warsaw Ghetto'
This story of struggle for survival in the Warsaw Ghetto does not dwell on the horrors and detail the sufferings of the Ghetto. Instead it presents a kind of Robinson Crusoe-like adventure tale in which young Alex, his mother having died, and his father having been taken away, must learn to fend for himself. He goes through a series of adventures in which his mettle is tested, and in the end the longed- for reunion with his father takes place. <

The Island on Bird Street
The Island on Bird Street was inspired by the author, Uri Orlev, reading The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. It was also based on Uri Orlev's life experience. The Island on Bird Street was translated out of Hebrew by Hillel Halkin. The book takes place during World War II. An eleven year old Polish Jewish boy named Alex struggles to survive around a "ghetto" that the Germans have condemned the Jews to live within. <

Would you want to be a Jew when you are getting ready to be killed by the Germans will I am going to tell you the book it's by Uri Orlev and the book title is The Island on Bird Street. <
> This story is about a young boy that is a Jew and his mom helps the needy Jews and one day she did not come back and the next day they where sending Jews off to trying camps. <
> So she don't come back. So the boy goes and tries to find his mom. While he was gone they take his dad and when the boy comes back his dad isn't there. So he goes off and tries to find his dad and while he trying to find his dad he gets caught and sent off to a training camp. He goes to about ten champs and the last one he was at his dad was there to the Germans would not late them see each other. So they snuck out at night and try to see each other but the dad gets caught and killed by the Germans and the boy tries to kill the Germans and he gets pushed down and gets put in some kind of hot box. <
> So I think you should read this book I thought it was good and I think you will like it to so get to the nearest library and get this book. <
