Customer Reviews of The Firm - Complete Body Sculpting
Do it! Six months ago I purchased the complete Firm body sculpting system, including 6 DVDs and equipment (bench, stick); I also joined their online workout club. Buying all these things and becoming a member of their club wasn't a cheap investment, but it was well worth it. The firm really works! I get results - better results than I have had working out at any gym (wish I could post a picture). I now have a lean, defined body and sculpted abs. The key is to use heavy enough weights so that I keep my muscles challenged and to be consistent with the videos so that the dancey moves become smoother and more effective. Like I said, I'm a member of their online club, so I also follow their workout plans and diet advice. Getting fit is a total system (the right amount of exercise, rest, and good food). Buying this DVD alone may not be enough; however, it's a good start. If you're gung-ho, I suggest going to their website and doing it all (DVD's, equipmet, club). If you're consistent, then true to the FIRM's promise, you will see results within ten workouts.
P.S. Investing in the complete firm system is still several hundred dollars cheaper than a gym membership.
Good luck and get good results!
Great workout...
This workout is the first to be led by Christa Riley, I felt
<
>she did a decent job. It is part of the Firm's third Body
<
>Sculpting system which introduces the "Firm Box" which a 3 in
<
>1 box that you can use as a 6 inch box for step aerobic,
<
>a 14 inch box for leg presses, or in an incline position
<
>for aerobics, lunges, chest and ab work.
<
>
<
>The workout is 45 minutes long and packs a lot in a short
<
>time, you will alternate strength and cardio segments.
<
>There are 3 cardio segments, the first one using the box in
<
>the 6 inch position, where you will see basic steps, alternating
<
>knees, knee repeaters, A-steps, hesitation repeaters, etc.
<
>The second cardio segment is more hi-lo impact routine done
<
>on the floor but the box is in front of you but not used
<
>much. The third cardio segment uses the box in the incline
<
>position for aerobics, which can be a little awkward until one
<
>gets used to it, or if it's uncomfortable you can do
<
>it with the box in the 6 inch position and still get a good
<
>workout.
<
>
<
>The first strength segment includes squats, then double arm
<
>lat rows seated on the box, followed by leg press on one leg, then one arm lat rows on one side, with a few travelling squats following then one arm lat rows on the opposite side, then you
<
>finish out with leg presses on the other leg. The second
<
>strength segments is more leg work, lots of dips combined
<
>with shoulder work. The dips are performed off the step
<
>working one leg first with count variation, then moving right
<
>into the other leg repeating the pattern. Then you go into
<
>overhead presses, lifting both arms then alternating arms then
<
>both arms again. Then you do another set of lunges alternating
<
>with squats, again off the step. After that you will move into
<
>short lever side delt raises. Then it's onto a final set of
<
>dips with kicks alternating with squats. The third strength
<
>segment consists of more leg presses alternating with dips
<
>three times each, you will work one leg with the leg press
<
>then the other leg for the dips. Then you will rest the legs
<
>and do some pushups, followed by leg press and dips for
<
>the other side, then some tricep dips using the box.
<
>The final strength segment you will do lunges using the incline
<
>box, I like doing lunges this way myself, I find it's a little
<
>easier on my knees. Then you will move into biceps curls,
<
>then lunges on the other side, followed by hammer curls.
<
>Then you will do some closed squats, squats with legs together
<
>with more lunges alternating legs. Then you will do some
<
>calf raises, followed by chest work and abs using the incline
<
>box.
<
>
<
>If you do not have the Firm box, you can use a regular step
<
>for the aerobics and a stool for the leg presses. And
<
>the chest and ab work could easiely be done lying on the floor
<
>which may be the preferred way for some. You will also need
<
>some dumbells, in the video they use 2 sets, 3 and 8 lbs.
<
>Christa has 4 fellow Firm master instructors working out with
<
>her, one as always shows the beginner modifications.
<
>
<
>Overall a rather complete workout in just 45 minutes, the
<
>music is good, high energy. I like this workout more each
<
>time I do it. Another good one from the Firm.

Be careful!!!!
I am a very advanced exerciser and have used the Firm dvd tapes extensively over the past months. The problem of the firm series if overuse of muscles. If you own the body sculpting system, you are basically weight training and doing the same lunges and squats every day if you rotate the videos as you are supposed to. The instructors do not explain proper form and the cardio is not that great. If you have knee or back problems, DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM!!! The ab routines are stupid and downright uncomfortable on this box. Get Tae Bo and/or Denise Austin for a better workout.
