I WOULD GIVE THIS MOVIE A 5 OUT OF 5 CAUSE IT IS A ALL TIME AWSOME MOVIE AND IT KICKS ASS. AND THE EXORCIST THE BEGINGING IS JUST A FAKE WANT TO BE JUST AS GOOD ASS THE REAL THING.
A Theological Thriller
The Exorcist was released when I was about six years old, but I never saw it until was I was a sophomore at Fordham University. There I got to know some of the people who were in the movie, Fr. Tom Bermingham and Fr. Bill O'Malley, Jesuits who taught at Fordham. One night Fr. O'Malley (who plays the priest at the end of the movie when the eerie music is playing) showed the movie in a dorm lounge and then had a Q&A session. It was quite a memorable experience. Until I actually saw "The Exorcist," I always thought of it as a run of the mill horror movie. I didn't know that the author of the book on which the movie is based, William Peter Blatty, was taught by the Jesuits and actually dedicated the book to them. Nor did I know that the Jesuits at Fordham participated in the movie as theological advisors and actors. Parts of the movie were even filmed on the campus. When most people think of this movie, the first thing that comes to mind is pea soup and spinning heads. But that's not what the movie is really about. It's about a priest (played here by Jason Miller, son-in-law of Jackie Gleason and father of Jason Patric) and his crisis of faith. This movie isn't simply a scary picture, it's a powerful, well directed and ably acted theological thriller. (The two sequels aren't even worth mentioning.)
An Original Movie but nothing Great. The Movie "Carrie" Is Better.
I saw this movie last night for the very first time and i must say that it is not anything special. It is okay, but it is not the best. The Exorcism of Emily Rose(2005) has much more feel than this Exorcist. Oh, in the end, both Preachers die but the young girl lives, and her demons leave her body due to the exorcism that is performed on her.

>If you want to see a really scary film; the only one i recommend which i think is very nice and highly worth it is a movie titled, "Carrie" with actress Sissy Spacek. That is a Classic! A beautiful story with a Tragic ending. The final parts are sad but what a movie. Even the flute music is beautiful, very touching to the soul. Carrie is a film that i would watch again and again.
