Some things never change--and when it comes to the Everly Brothers, that's definitely a good thing. Seen here performing at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1983 following a lengthy and acrimonious split, Don and Phil barely miss a beat. They were in their mid-40s, and performing together for the first time in some 10 years (Phil had smashed a guitar and walked offstage in what you might call a fit of pique), but their harmonies are as perfect as ever, to the point where it's hard to tell who's singing which part. Backed by a band of crack British musicians, they run through some 21 songs, including a dizzying array of hits. "Crying in the Rain," "Wake Up Little Susie," "Cathy's Clown," "Bye Bye Love": the Everlys may not have written most of their tunes, but they sure know how to pick 'em. There were TWO reunion concerts!!!
Most of us seem to have forgotten that back in 1983 actually 2 concerts were played: both on 22nd and 23rd September The Everly Brothers played at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The several CD releases are recordings of one these concerts, but this DVD release is the other show! So, no complaints about this release as being "incomplete" or whatever......
Just compare the songs to the ones on the CD's, and you'll find out that these are different recordings. Both the DVD and the CD's state September 23rd as date of recording, but one of them must be wrong.
Differences can be heard clearly on Don's solo singing parts: Cathy's Clown and Love Is Strange are obvious examples. Even Bye Bye Love is treated differently by Don in his second solo part.
So get hold of this film! By doing so, you get a hold on the first or second reunion concert! (I honestly can't tell which concert is 23rd September or not...)
Futhermore, just watch Don and Phil looking at each other during Let It Be Me.....how close to perfect harmony can you get?? Well, this actually IS perfect harmony! Enjoy!

Where Is The Music...Terrible Recording.
Sad to say this concert was Poorly Recorded.I have a Great Sound System and I was really expecting to hear some Great Music.I went to an Everly Brothers Concert at Circle Star many years ago and the sound is Terrible there but at least the Band Sounded Nice and Tight.On this Show Alvin Lee and the Boys seem to be shuffling through these Songs which actually does not make a difference since the Band Sound on this DVD is Terrible.Just a Bad Recording.I wonder who Mastered this Concert they should be Fired.The only Plus is Phil and Don's Vocals are worth it.

I can't say enough about this Everly Brothers Reunion Concert, the brothers were in great form. The ballads were beautiful, and the upbeat songs, they really rocked to. I loved it so much I bought another for a relative.
