Does not perform as advertised.
Cook a four-pound chicken with eight charcoal briquets? If it sounds too good to be true, it is. After reading some positive reviews on another website about this grill I bought one. Tried it out following instructions to the letter. Nevermind trying to cook a chicken, I tried to cook four chicken burgers. They sat and sat and sat. After about 30 minutes they looked fairly well cooked. Took them off and realized they were still half raw. After an hour --- 30 minutes prep time and 30 minutes cooking, we had to finish the burgers on a stovetop griddle.
I went back to the website where I'd read the two good reviews. Turns out one was written by a person who hadn't bought the product. The review was based on their impression of the product description. The second review praised the product and reported that he was able to cook a four-pound bird in two hours. But wait a second, the reviewer went on to say that he had to replace the charcoal half way through. So, after cooking the bird for an hour, he needed to remove it from the grill, remove the grate top, replace the charcoal, wait another half hour for them to heat up, then put the chicken back on for another hour. I guess I just don't have that sort of patience.
Another website, earthfireusa.com, has lots of positive information on this product. Maybe it works for some, but I found it useless.
