Customer Reviews of Testosterone
Five Stars for the music and Sonia Braga...at least!! Just seeing a film with Sonia Braga all drama'd out and dolled up for "those looks" was worth getting this movie. She does stormy-'n'-indignant deliciously well. <

>My one HUGE regret is that the music isn't available on CD as a soundtrack! It is so glorious, especially when the main character gets to Buenos Aires. I hope they get the soundtrack out. It is extraordinary. (It was the first thing I looked for here on Amazon.com after I saw it.) I would love to have it. (The music gets all five stars!!) <

>That said, the movie played out like a dream would, with Dean (David Sutcliffe) searching obsessively - as someone who is caught in a dream would - for the lover who evaporated from his life: Pablo (Antonio Sabato, Jr.). <

>It reminded me very much of dream, when you'll do anything to find the one you are looking for...and get distracted...at times...on the way. <

>(Smoldering eyes are not on short supply in the film.)
IT SUCKED!
If you want to see a good gay movie, get GRANDE ECOLE, LATTER DAYS or NEVERLAND (the modern gay version of PETER PAN - NOT the Johnny Depp movie!). All of these movie were interesting and involving and had HOT GUYS in them. TESTOSTERONE SUCKED. Horrible.
What I saw without fastforwarding was dull
Was the sole intent of this film to flaunt the smidgeon of a moment when Sabato Jr. revealed himself in all his glory? It sure seemed like it, because there was a lot of hype about his full frontal scene... and talk of little else. After I watched the movie, it is easy to see why that is. As a matter of fact, his scene is indicative of the rest of this films appeal. It is long... and it is limp.

>The acting is plain horrid. Who ever said Jennifer Coolidge offered much needed comic relief must have been desperately seeking another high point to compare to the nudity because her performance seemed as if it was phoned in during a break from the American Pie series. As for the leading man (no, not Sabato Jr., the dude is hardly in the picture) well, he was decent but his character was sloppily developed. I was left wondering how he had been driven to do what he did at the end and what exactly he had gotten out of it. And also, a twist at the end is meant to be revealing and a surprise, but the surprise is that the film makers expect viewers to grasp what happened. I'm still confused.

>Maybe if I had kept my thumb off of the forward button on my remote, I may have been more in tune with the overall point of this film, but I was not so forgiving. Fortunatly, I rented this gem of a garbage color and I am certain I won't be needing a fix of this film again.
