Customer Reviews of Tenebril GhostSurf 2006 Platinum
It's so secure, it won't let you surf! I downloaded the 45 day trial version from download.com After a smooth install and reboot, my PC would not connect to the internet. The programs other components did not work (Spycatcher, privacy guard). This program will HOG all of your system resources and bring your PC to a crawl. I have 512 Megs and my laptop could barely pull through loading simple programs with this thing running. <

>This lasted all of under 30 minutes on my PC and it actually took longer to repair and restore the damage done that I had it on my system. I finally had to go to system restore point to get my internet back up. <

>But hey, if it won't let you connect to the internet, then I guess it's doing its job in protecting your information. <

>Avoid at all costs.
Disabled Explorer
I used the menu option to get auto settings for Internet Explorer so I could do anonymous browsing. It didn't work and I wans't able to connect to the internet. I was able to fix it again by choosing auto choose in the connection menu. I don't have time to do more research but it was a disapointment. The software reroutes you to Tenbril's server but that didn't happen on my home dsl. I would check out their tech boards before buying.
Don't Waste Your Money
When installing the program, you are required to download an "updated" version. The version on the disk has a warning recommending that it not be used. Not all components of the program would install properly -- the spyware piece would never install. The Internet privacy component has four settings; two requiring you to go through their proxy. Neither of them would work. After deciding that this was just wasting disk space, I tried to remove it. It screwed up my configuration to the point that I had to do a restore to get things working right
