Customer Reviews of Tahoe Travel System
Love It! We got two of this system...one for my SUV, and one for his truck. Not only is the ENTIRE set adorable (swing, highchair, play yard, travel system), but it was definitely worth $180. The car seat fits so snug in its base and has the leveler on the side so you know FOR SURE its in a safe perfect position. It is so simple to take in and out of the base AND the stroller, and the canopys close to shade baby and leave a window to see them. The folding part takes getting used to, but once you have it its nice...doesnt allow you to be a lazy mom lol. Hope you all love it if you decide to purchase it!
Love the Car Seat, the stroller is just ok
After checking out several different travel systems at the store we decided on the Tahoe Travel system. My husband installed the carseat base in the car and said it was very easy to install. I've seen other moms struggle to get their car seat into the base in their car and this one is WONDERFUL, the car seat just snaps right in everytime with no problems, we just have to make sure our front seat in our minivan is pushed forward so that there is room to put the car seat in, once it's in, the seat back can be moved back to a comfortable place for the front seat passenger. The car seat is relatively easy to carry around by itself and snaps into the stroller pretty easily too, you just have to make sure the handle to the car seat is moved up or else it won't snap into the stroller. My daughter enjoys the seat and it's pretty easy to strap her into it. The stroller on the other hand has a nice large basket underneath, but you can't get out things you put in the front of the basket without taking everything out first. My biggest complaint is when the shade part on the stroller is open (pushed towards you) it covers the parent tray and if you have a drink in the drink holder you have to move the umbrella shade each time to get your drink in and out. My daughter is still to small to use the stroller without her car seat but when she does, I have to admit the straps look a little confusing. I'm not looking forward to using them. Think I will use a lighter stroller when she outgrows her car seat. Overall this stroller is light and easy for me to break down (with two hands) and set up and has a very smooth ride.
Always pros, Always cons
I have been using this travel system for the past 3 months with a now five month old baby girl who I babysit. Each carseat and stroller have their pros and cons, because each person is different and have different needs and expectations. For me this system has been very easy to use. First, the carseat is smaller than other carseats, but Emma always looks very comfy and secure. Because I am a babysitter, I don't use the base, but installing the carseat without it works perfectly and I've never had a problem with securing it into my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. I absolutely love the handle on the carseat. It's probably my most favorite thing about the carseat besides all the padding. You can carry this carseat so many different ways and so far they've all been so comfortable. I've used Graco, Evenflo and Cosco carseats and have enjoyed carrying this one so much more, because it has so many options that are more natural than the other brands, plus it's one of the lightest, if not the lightest carseat on the market. The five point harness is great and easy to use as is the carseat release button. The canopy is awesome because it has so much coverage. One problem I have had is that when putting the handle on the carseat back to remove the child, the handle gets caught on the canopy if it's pushed back, but I think that is such a minor con. Okay now to the stroller. I love the size of it. It's just right for my height (5'3). It's lightweight and easy to lift in and out of my truck. The thing that's supposed to hold it closed doesn't work, but it's not that big of a deal to me, because I can hold it together myself and normally I only need it closed for a few seconds either putting it away or taking it out for use. It rides smoothly and steers very easily. Normally I take walks outside with it and therefore have no problem with the "parent tray," but it is true that the canopy on the stroller does cover it up when pushed back. The basket is nice underneath, but is pretty unaccessable when the seat is reclined. Unlike other reviewers I have not had any problems with opening or closing the stroller. I love the five point harness on the stroller and the canopy, like that on the carseat, is huge and gives awesome protection from the sun. Althought there are some cons, to me there are more pros about this system. I do think there should be some improvements for future models, but all in all I have really enjoyed using this carseat and stroller and will continue.
