Excellent value! I got these for about thirty dollars shipped from accessories4less dot com, over the advice of several people on several audio forums to get more expensive metal stands. <

I think that the only time you might want to spend 3-5 times as much for a super heavy metal stand is if you have very big speakers, no subwoofer, and listen to a lot of bass-intensive music. Otherwise these do the job nicely for smaller speakers with the lowest frequencies passed on to a powered subwoofer---it's the lowest frequencies which are most likely to cause resonance on cheaper MDF stands like these. <
