Awesome bed! We purchased this travel cot for a trip to Alaska. The pack-n-play is too heavy and large to take on the plane (with all our other luggage), and our 22-month old son is not ready for bed-rails. This bed weighs less than 6 lbs. and fits IN the suitcase, only taking up about a third of the space. He slept in it just fine, and it's going to be great for picnics b/c it has a mesh top that zips closed. Highly recommend it for TRAVEL (though I would recommend the pack-n-play for everyday use). It sets up like a tent, with separate poles that slide together. If it weren't for the first-time "where do I start to learn how to set this thing up?!" issue, I would have given 5 stars -- Once you get the hang of it, it's easier and easier! <
