Not great for monitoring but great for getting baby to sleep If you're using this as a monitor, then it's really not a great product. There's a ton of feedback - very fuzzy sound.
But as far as getting my baby to sleep . . .
FANTASTIC! I'd put my son in his crib, turn on the ceiling light show and he almost always went to sleep. No kidding! The boy started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks - regularly - and I attribute at least part of that to the light show keeping him occupied as he fell asleep.
After months of loving this thing, however, it ceased to work in my home. Something about a neighbor purchasing some electronic equipment that wasn't compatible - the thing started going off at random, which was irritating. F-P was never able to give me a good explanation about why it happened.
Sending this product back was a sad moment in my life.
By the way, I've noticed a lot of my F-P products cease to work properly after a few months - this monitor, that stupid portable swing (waste of money) and recently my son's crib aquairum went dead.

I wish I would have read the reviews before putting this monitor on my registery, but oh well. Like so many of the other customers, our projection went out after about six months, which is a shame because that was my daughter's favorite part of the machine. Now I didn't find the monitor to be that noisy, but it wasn't silent either. And the music doesn't last long enough for the baby to enjoy it without me having to come in her room and hit the button again. Next time I'll do my research first....but let's face it ladies, Fisher Price's quality on any of their products just isn't the same anymore.

Like many, we used this for three months and the bulb went out. Can't find a replacement, so I'm not even sure if that is the problem. Phones and TV's cause a lot of static, however it was OK for us with no electronics on. This was not really worth the price when it did work....spend your money elsewhere.
