Customer Reviews of Surrender
ChemBrosWillWhipYouIntoAHypnoticFrenzy The new Chemical Brothers "Surrender" is ready to take over the planet. Thanks to local/web radio station WFNX Lynn/Boston, I was able to hear it in its entirty on Sunday night. This is funk-soul electro boogie from a far off universe, where technodroids create sonic soundscapes that jump right off the disc and morph into a dizzying collage of samples, special effects and(drumroll please)yes, GUITARS. Fans won't be dissappointed at all, cause this disc is filled with all the stuff that Chemicals are made of. Robotic loops that morph in to other loops hypnotize the listener while seamlessly mixing into a whole new sound before you can shake the trance. The Brothers treat special guest vocalists from Mazzy Starr, New Order and Mercury Rev just like any other samples and twist and splice them up until they're all part of the Chemical Brothers psychedelic mind-warping experience. My personal favorite is "The Sunshine Underground" a pure dose of Chemical bliss that will send summer raves into techno overdrive. Make no mistake about it. This is THE album that will rock your block off this summer.
One Of The Best Electronic Records Ever Made
The Chemical Brothers really outdid themselves on their most acidic release yet. The theme of the record seems to be psychedelic textures layed out on a futuristic base. It is all very dreamy and reminds me of Primal Scream colliding with Moby. You may think this seems a bit mixed up, but somehow it all works its way together. This is a rocky album as well, featuring guests from Mazzy Star, New Order, and Oasis, whose Noel Gallagher adds a Beatlesque touch to the brilliant Let Forever Be. The crunching big beats seem to disappear on this album, for the better, and this is a required touch for making it such a great dream-techno record. Each song has its own feel to it, Let Forever Be's Beatlemania, Out Of Control's frantic trance, or Music: Response's early computer noise. This is a vivid collection of sound, which can be easily used at clubs and raves around the world. The Chemical Brothers and Moby are really taking techno to new places, mixing it with blues, jazz, and folk, and thus creating a beautiful sound as well. The cover art is amazing, and I would really like to find out the artist. This record really makes me think to the future, and thus one of the most moving ones I own.
great begining but trails off
let forever be and out of control are possibly the best tracks ever from the brothers. other tracks are ok but last half of cd is suspect with slower songs and are somewhat weak. music response is a crazy track check it out.
