Customer Reviews of Super Smash Bros. Smashing Melee...Live! Live Orchestra Music
Smashing Good Music! Smashing...Live! is a great live performance contained on this CD that mixes together a bunch of old Nintendo tunes. Mostly, the music is great. There are stirring arrangements here of Donkey Kong Country, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and all kinds of various random series that were all featured in some way or another in Super Smash Bros. Melee for the GameCube. This is one of the best bonus items Nintendo Power ever sent out, and it is an outright shame that this was not offered commercially, as it would certainly have been great for more people to hear it. <

>The biggest complaint that can be lobbied against this game is the quality of the symphony orchestra that's performing the music. While most professional orchestras can sit down and perform a piece near-flawlessly after practicing it once or twice, there are all kinds of little mishaps here and there. There are outright disgusting notes in some of the songs (Fire Emblem in particular) on the part of the trumpet section, not to mention the odd percussion choices. It also is worth mentioning that the crowd noises are quite loud and obvious, which is certainly unfortunate. <

>Any Nintendo fan that can get this for cheap, however, will find a treat in some great arrangements of familiar tunes.
Smashing? Lives up to the name!
I Love this Album! Being a video gamer from way back, albeit a so-so one, I have an affinity for many of the tracks heard on this CD. This time however they are being performed in a style of which I enjoy most; Full Orchestra. I can't say enough about the music. The standout cues include Fountain of Dreams, Jungle Gardens, Hyrule Temple~Great Bay, and Brinstar Depths~Brinstar. I never thought the Mario Theme would sound good if it wasn't done by synth, but this CD proved me wrong. The track entitled "Smash Brothers Grand Medley" conatins the main themes from the Original Super Mario Trilogy and they are highlights as well. The F-Zero Racing theme sounds better as well.
