Customer Reviews of Suicide Kings
One of the Most Interesting Films in a While While this film did not get much attention elsewhere, it certainly has mine. Suicide Kings is a movie about a group of spoiled rich kids in a tight bind with some criminals. To help gain some leverage in the ordeal, one of them has the bright idea to kidnap a NY mob boss (Walken). A guessing game of who betrayed who ensues and it will keep you wondering. This movie is hilarious, smart and interesting. It's full of great acting, funny dialogue, and interesting plot twists. Christopher Walken, in my opinion one of the greatest movie bad guys, shows his range in an outstanding performance. He's funny, dramatic and intense, all while being taped to a chair for most of the movie. Other notable performances are Dennis Leary, who plays Walken's right hand man in classic Leary style, and Jay Moore as the hard nosed, stubborn leader of the preps. The film has a very independent feel to it and is gritty at some points. While feeling this way, however, it does not feel un-professional ever. Basically, if you want a funny film with great performances from great actors, a good plot (which is often scarce nowadays), and a cheap price ...!!!, you have no excuse not to buy Suicide Kings.
INCREDIBLE WALKEN, HILARIOUS LEARY
Peter O'Fallon, the director of Party of Five and various TV movies takes a step in a completely opposite direction, with this dark, crime comedy mystery. Christopher Walken, a mob boss, is kidnapped by 5 rich, otherwise innocent college kids. Walken is held hostage for 2 million dollars needed for the ransom of oe of the kids sisters, and the plot thickens. A the movie progresses, you meet Denis Leary, Walkens hilarious mob lieutenant. Walken senses the boys weaknesses, and tricks them in various ways, bettering his own position. The differences between all of the kidnappers are hilarious, and tear them apart. This film shows a little bit of mob parody as well, with 2 other kidnappers who can't stop bragging, and Denis Leary, who holds the whol thing together. Strongly reminds me of reservoir dogs, directed in Tarantino's style.
A movie to watch time after time
I don't exactally know what made me watch this movie. I think my dad picked it up from some $5 bin and one day while bored out of my mind I picked it up a random movie and decided to watch it. But I am glad that I watched it for sure. It is a movie that I have literally watched twice in the last week (well that could be due to the fact that I have nothing better to do...) and cracked up thru both times. and everytime i watch this movie knowing the ending I am still questioning who the inside player is and how everything is going to end. basically it is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time and it is a movie tht i recommend to everyone who likes dar comedies and doesnt mind blood and cussing.
