Customer Reviews of Strangeland
Soundtrack not to be forgotten. I just recently ordered this cd from amazon and received it in the mail on Tuesday. Well, it is now Saturday, and I can tell you, this is THE BEST soundtrack I own. It has great unreleased songs from Sevendust and System of a Down. And the Major highlight of the cd, is the VERY last Snot, song, Absent. This will probably be the song that you will think of from now on when someone says "Snot". Simply mindblowing. There is also a diff. version of Not Living by Coal Chamber that sounds more like their first album. Then there are the songsn that I already have: Serpent Boy, by (hed) pe and Eye For an Eye By soulfly. If you want a GREAT mix of metal, Strangeland is the way to go, also check out the movie, it too is amazong.
One of the best hard-rock samplers of the year.
Strangeland is hands down a killer CD. Featuring ALL NEW tracks from some of the biggest stars in the business (Manson, Pantera, Megadeth, Anthrax), as well as the next generation of superstars (Sevendust, Coal Chamber, Soulfly), Strangeland is a must for all. The Sevendust track kicks, you gotta hear metal-rapper Kid Rock, and its great to see Twisted Sister back with the cheesy but catchy "Heroes are Hard to Find." The rest don't disappoint either. The best metal soundtack in years.
More like a sampler than a soundtrack
Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider put together a horror movie with mixed results, and the film's soundtrack is no exception. Combining more newer material from older bands and the at the time "up and coming" (now look them up under washed up) nu-metal bands, this soundtrack feels more like a sampler, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Dee Snider's moody "Inconclusion" is surprisingly good, while Pantera's "Where You Come From" (from their live album) and Anthrax's "P-N-V" are standout newer tracks from two legendary bands. Other standout cuts include Sevendust's "Breathe", Snot's "Absent", and a reunited Twisted Sister's "Heroes are Hard to Find", but the cuts from Kid Rock, Soulfly, Bile, and (hed)pe are nothing special. Also, of all the Megadeth songs, why "A Secret Place"? I can think of so many other songs by them that would have better suited this soundtrack. All in all, despite it's flaws, the Strangeland soundtrack is an above average metal collection.
