Customer Reviews of Starlite Symphony Play Gym
This one is THE WINNER! OK - I didn't want to pay so much for one of these things, but I have to say that this on is SOOOOO worth it!! My son was born 6 weeks early, so he is a little behind full term babies his age so I wanted something for him to do since he doesn't have the head control of his peers. I bought something less expensive that had music and moving things that he could bat and make them move more - it was inexpensive (on special at Toys R Us) for about $20. It went back - he wasn't interested - he doesn't bat at things yet and doesn't like to look straight up (midline) very much. I then bought the kick and crawl through Aquarium thing($30) - he loves to kick and the ball was great for him, but I discovered that the octopus doesn't have replaceable batteries (shame on you Fisher Price) - it went back. We went to our cousin-in-law's house to visit her new baby and she had the Tiny Love black and red and white Gymini thing - he loved looking at the contrasting colors, BUT the thing doesn't really do anything else and he doesn't like to "bat" at things...so I didn't buy it. Then I looked at the Fisher Price Baby Plazone Kick and Whirl Carnival - the reviews were NOT good - I looked at it myself and they were right - TOO Loud..both setting were the same. Then I saw the Starlite..WOO HOO...he LOVES this...his favorite thing is to kick...kick...kick and kick some more. AND...I hung the very large mirror to his right side over his head and he makes faces at himself...smiling and laughing most of the time. This one does SO much that it was well worth the $50!! This is the ONLY one I've found that has the right kind of kick pad...it blows up so it is soft and he won't hurt his feet. Now I can cook dinner and not feel guilty that he is just laying there staring at the ceiling fan.
good for mom and baby
My daughter also loves this gym... At 10 weeks she figured out how to use the "motion" to turn on the music. We are still working on "intentionally hitting" the hanging props. I put her in this since she was about a month old and she loves all the lights. It definitely keeps her occupied for a few minutes. A must have.
Daughter LOVES this
This was the first toy that my daughter really had any interest in. She was only 4 weeks when she realized that her kicking action was causing the lights and sounds. She really went to town kicking. It comes with batteries but they will likely need to be replaced soon since they run the test for potential customers.
