Customer Reviews of Stacey and the Cheerleaders (Baby-Sitters Club, 70)
Okay This book was alright I mean the stuff about cheerleaders and jocks getting special treatment isn't something that happens in junior high or middle school. That is more something that happens in univeristy. Plus the whole idea of that is definitley over used I can name about hundred books or movies that have that same basic plot. But other than that it was alright.
Stacey and the Cheerleaders--Loved It!
"Stacey and the Cheerleaders". What does that make you think of? Well, if you haven't read it, you could be thinking, Stacey is friends with the cheerleaders and maybe even, Does she want to become one? That's what I thought before I picked it up. Well, after I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. It's about Stacey McGill, a member of the Baby-Sitters Club. She becomes friends with some of the cheerleaders (including Sheila McGregor, who is a cheerleader in her homeroom). They say, maybe she should tryout (because they had an opening spot). Well she gets all pumped up, trained by her friend Jessi Ramsey, and tries out. Her new boyfriend, Robert, who is on the basketball team may seem partial when he says he thinks she's the best a cheerleader could get. The members of the BSC think so too. So she tries out. Does she make it? I don't want to ruin the end for you, but you should know that even if it may seem unexpected it's a pretty happy ending! You will probably be surprised at the ending. I gave this book 4 stars because it kind of stereotyped cheerleaders. Not all cheerleaders are rude, obnoxious, and mean to "lesser" people. Ann M. Martin (the author) seemed to be extremely judgemental on that note. But this book will hold your attention.
A New Romance for Stace
In Stacey and the Cheerleaders, Stacey gets a new romance...and his name is Robert! Go Stacey! Plus, she tries out for the cheerleading squad and hangs with the "popular group". But when Stacey doesn't make it because one of the cheerleaders likes her boyfriend, then things start to get outta hand. Robert does something drastic, and to find out what it is you'll have to read the book.
