Delicately drawn flowers on a warm, buttery yellow field give Albany an appealing tranquility. The blue used for the flowers and rim lies between navy and cobalt in tone, and provides a perfect contrast with the pattern's yellow border and white background. In the very center of the 10-inch dinner plate, a small yellow medallion of leaves and button-like blossoms forms a focal point. Not flat, the dinner plate is welled, which makes it ideal for ratatouille, pot roast, chicken marbella, and other juicy foods.

Freshened with new colors for the modern market in 1999, Albany is based on Gloucester, one of Spode's earliest patterns that was originally rendered in blue and white. Though an Albany piece may look delicate, the dinnerware is crafted in England of Spode's highest quality earthenware known as Imperialware, and is safe for the dishwasher and microwave.
