Customer Reviews of Spire QuadroFlow V 775 CPU Cooler and fan #SP512S7
Blessed Silence I don't normally write reviews, but this fan is such an immense improvement over Intel's stock fan that I felt I had to help others in my situation -- which can best be described as "driven out of the house by the screaming of the cpu cooler". <
>Pros: Quiet, quiet, quiet, easy to install, quiet, inexpensive. <
>Cons: none <
>Yes, you have to take the mobo out to install the fan, but it's still tons better than Intel's poorly-designed attachment system - somebody should tell Intel what "k.i.s.s." stands for.
Great fan for the price.
Pros: Works well with my Pentium D 930 and ASUS P5P800-VM mobo. Keeps the D930 at 40-49 C. (Not awesome numbers, but better than the stock Intel fan from what I have read.) Thermal paste comes applied to the CPU mounting surface making it so easy! Quiet too!

>Cons: Unless you can get at the back of your mobo, you have to remove it in order to install the fan. I also got mine with bent-over fins on one side (which easily bent back.) Packaging could have been a bit better.

>Other Thoughts: For the price this could be a good replacement fan or even an upgrade fan for some. To do it over again I would have spent a few bucks more and bought a Tt fan/sink. The only difference between this fan and the Intel fan that comes with the D930 is the Spire comes with a collar around the fan; Intel doesn't.
Great quality and price!
Purchased fan to cool my new P3.2Ghz processor. Searched high and low. Looked at fans that cost over 100 bucks and couldn't really see significant performance differences. I took a chance on this $15 fan. I am impressed! It connects to the board via its own mounting bracket so you don't have to worry about cracking your expensive board by pushing it into those clips. Temp in case stays below 60 degrees. Fan is heavy duty. Nothing cheap about it.
