good picture-when it works I bought the little Spectroniq about (2) months ago. The player does have a good upconverted picture but, mine freezes up. pauses, playes awhile and then freezes all over again. It got worse the longer I had it. May have somthing to do when the player gets warm. I called tech support and they advised me to re-set it. I did with no improvement. It happens with all my dics and rentals too. One thing I did like is that it up-converts through the componet outputs too. I dont have an HDMI input. Of course since it doesnt play any disc right its got to go back. Buyer Beware!
