Don't Waste Your Money
We registered for this and received it as a shower gift. After only 5 minutes of use, it went right back into the box. The static it picked up was terrible. Not only did it mask any low sounds coming from the baby but it was simply annoying to sit and listen to that static. I suppose we would have gotten used to it, like the hum of lots of flourescent lights. You have to turn it up to hear the baby which only increased the volume of static.
Needless to say, it went back to the store.
We found a 900MHz model made by Sony (model 910) which is excellent. It's the only 900MHz model that I've seen that has 27 different channels to avoid static and interference with any cordless phones at the same frequency. I didn't find many reviews for this product but I went ahead with the purchase, relying on my past satisfaction with Sony products. It works great with no static and it picks up the slightest whisper from ten feet away, if desired. You can turn down the receiver volume if you only wish to hear baby crying. If you can find it, buy this baby monitor.

Excellent Monitor
We've used this monitor from the very beginning with our eight-month-old. We've never had a problem with static. The only problem we have ever had with it was when we had the receiver in the room next to the baby's room. The volume was turned up so high that the monitor was picking up sounds that were coming from the receiver, and this caused feedback. It was easily remedied by turning the volume down on the receiver.

The monitor is so sensitive that it picks up the sound of our baby's breathing at all volume levels except when the dial is turned to the lowest setting. I absolutely love that feature. We keep the monitor on a chair next to our baby's crib, but we can still hear her breathing even when she has moved to the opposite end of the crib.

Ours came with two receivers, which is very convenient. We leave one in our room and move the other one around the house depending on our location. The battery feature is excellent; I've been able to work in my garden while the baby takes a nap, and I can keep the monitor beside me.

The best part of this feature is the sound-triggered lights. At first, I thought that this feature was extraneous for someone who isn't deaf and doesn't need the visual cues. However, I find that I can leave the monitor on the bathroom counter while I take a shower and still know if the baby is crying, even with the noise of the running water, by checking the light display. It is very convenient, and we are very glad we purchased this product.

Satisfied
We purchased this monitor for our first child and have been using it for almost 18months now. We have had no problems with it. We have two receivers so we leave on in our bedroom and move the other to wherever we are. Everything still works fine.
