The SDM-M51 has a single cord that handles audio, video, and power and that can easily be tucked out of sight, helping you to achieve that old dream of a clutter-free workspace. For users who enjoy their computer's audio functions as much as the video, the two built-in speakers are a real bonus. Fitted snugly into the lower edge of the frame, they contain the expected Sony quality with no use of additional space. Two onscreen controls supply bass boost and wide stereo settings for a true home theater experience. The other 14 onscreen controls allow users to easily customize their settings and choose from multiple languages.
Sony's limited warranty covers parts (including the backlight) and labor for a full three years. --Jill Lightner

Customer Reviews of Sony SDM-M51 15" LCD Monitor
Problems This monitor has great colors and it is very sharp... for an early model for LCD monitors. However after 1-2 years it starts to have problems, problems such as screen fading to different colors or turning Black. Yes there is a unofficial way to fix this, but it is very risky. Over my four years of experience with this monitor(It was around $700 cda when the monitor came out) , the fading of the monitor will become more frequent, if it Happens just squeeze different parts of the monitor until the screen becomes normal. This monitor is not suitable for viewing dark objects and pictures, because it will not show up at all. If you are planning to use this monitor for gaming, when dealing with darker areas you will see nothing but black, there is no way to fix it. As a result of the problems, I am planning to buy the Sony SDM-HS95P/S 19" LCD Monitor. Overall, this monitor is decent, however I would not suggest anyone to purchase this monitor unless if it becomes very cheap in price in the near future.
They should Pay People to Take These
Do a search in google and you'll find tons of unhappy people stuck with these. If you are one of those people here's the fix for it http://www.ticon.net/~n9ewo/m51.html It does work I just fixed a friends.
... this monitor!
This monitor WILL die (average life span is about 1 and 1/2 years). Sony WILL NOT replace it (they will only offer to refurbish it). Mine is going, going, gone. It fades to white then colored horizontal and vertical lines. Obvious mass defect in this model. I've seen so many articles online from unhappy Sony customers. You've been warned.
