Don't trust Sony
Since I didn't see an option for "no stars," I reluctantly give this product one star. In early February 2004, my husband and I purchased a new Sony TFT LCD Color computer monitor for the price of approximately $600. My husband was going to begin a project scanning our collection of slides spanning many years of his family's fun times and then family after our marriage. He was impressed with the sharpness and color of this monitor. He has never had much experience with computers but had dealt with Sony products in his audio visual work before retirement, so he thought it would be a great monitor. <

It would alternate between very dark and very light backlighting and the contrast was poor and strange Windows color schemes. Nothing that I tried would bring the color back to normal, but I did get some interesting results, none of which are acceptable. When I called the manufacturer's customer service department, I had several months' warranty for full labor and parts remaining on the monitor. <

Excellent!
OK, I have two of these beasts ;-) and I ordered a 3rd one for a dual monitor set up since I do video and sound editing. My wife has one on her PC and now I will have the dual setup on mine. Let me tell you this: these monitors are probably not only the BEST looking pieces out there (I like them better than the replacement model Sony came out with) but also have the mos amazing picture quality I've seen so far for these kind of displays. Absolutely recommend it. GET IT. *****

Good resolution but broken within 2 months
this monitor has good resolution and contrast ratio...however, the screen turned complete white and blank after just 1.5months of use. i ended up switching back to my old CRT monitor and it worked fine...call up sony and was told they can only send me a refurbished monitor because its more than a month since purchase..and there you go, I lost $100 value in less than 2 months...i am very disappointed with the quality of the monitor.
