Customer Reviews of Soldier Of Fortune II: Double Helix
Awesome Live Experience OK 1 Player Game I bought this game a few days ago and after playing it for countless hours, I can only say that it's been great. First, the graphics ARE NOT XBOX STANDARD, they are totally weak, this doesn't look like an Xbox game but like a playstation 2 game, however don't let the graphics fool you, the game packs an incredible 55 missions from all over the world. There are some missions that you work with other marines like in halo, which is awesome, they have excellent A.L and can hold there own, other missions you ride in a army helicopter full of marines while shooting bad guys from the top, and others your just solo using stealth while 100 guys are trying to kill you. OK the live part of this game is the best, I haven't had this much fun since ghost recon, you can play the usual teams and deadmatch and so on, but something makes this more fun, maybe the ability that you can tear appart heads and legs etc from other live players, but I'm not sure, anyways it's a blast just don't expect the best in graphics, great buy thought, it's worth your 50 bucks.
Extremely long single player, but poor everywhere else.
I spent many, many hours playing the single player; and I normally rock at first person shooters. It's not that the game is hard, infact it's pretty easy, it's just long. The story line is there, but you can hardly follow it past, "bad guy with big biological gun". In addition to that, it's sometimes really hard to figure out what you're supposed to do with the big bosses. On the bright side, this game has tons of guns (plus a few that are locked out of single player for god-only-knows-what-reason).
This game also packs X-box live. Too bad out of the two times I've tried playing it, no one was online.
Personally I hated Redfaction, but this game wasn't too bad.
The best quality about this game is it's burtal bloody gameplay. You can shoot holes straight through an enemy head and see out the other side. You can blow a guy's leg off with a shot gun. Or if you don't think his death was brutal enough, crouch down with your knife and fix his body up. Maybe just take off his jaw and a few fingers; or leave nothing but a torso.
You can't beat the $20 dollar price; so get a job and buy this game.
Poor quality
So you can deal damage to more specific body parts, thats about all this game has going for it. Even then its rediculous and so far from reality. Your telling me you can consistantly cleave legs off at the hip with a couple 9mm bullets? The "Military Advisor" they claim worked on this game with them must have been asleep. I'd say this game is one step above Turok. Its very, very shallow. I loved Red Faction 1&2...this is no Red Faction.
If you can love a game soley for its unrealistic, constant gore this is a good title for you at 20$.
