Great car seat!
Since this is the first and only car seat I've ever owned, I can't compare with others, but can say that the common problems I hear of haven't been an issue with this one. The straps never twist and are easy to buckle. The tension adjustment strap is located in the front of the seat, making adjstments so easy whether baby is in or out of the seat. The carrier fits securely into the base and is easy to remove for baby on the go (plus, additional bases may be purchased for your other car or grandma's car). As another reveiwer mentioned, it's true that it doesn't fit the front of all shopping carts, but I don't know of any seat that would fit since all shopping carts aren't universal sizes. I still feel more secure putting the carrier into the cart itself if I take it into stores. It can be a bit weighty if you have an SUV to lift it into, but it doesn't bother me too much and has only become noticable since my baby is going on 15 lbs.. The handle is easy to adjust forward and back, and the canopy is a great convenience when it's windy, too sunny, or drizzling. The level indicator is also a nice feature for installment. I've never used the 'boot cover' as I had a fleece cover-up for the winter, but the infant head support is of great use. Yes, the weight limit is 20 lbs. (a few less than other brands) and 26 inches. As my daughter is currently in the 95% for weight and height, I expect I'll be investing in a convertible seat long before her first birthday. Even so, I would buy this one again. It's made specifically for infants, sturdy, secure, easy to use, and attractive.

Has the Features to look for in an Infant Car Seat
A lot of people have Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seats because of the ease of leveling the seat with the adjuster on the base & the good price. This one stands out because Graco added lots of nice features to it. For example, you can tighten the straps(by pulling a strap at your baby's feet) & loosen the straps (by pushing a button at your baby's feet) without having to adjust the belts from behind the seat (like on some SnugRides), so look for that when your choosing your SnugRide. I also like that this one comes with a boot, which is great for tucking a blanket around baby to keep him warm. Instead of just setting the blanket on the baby, this boot keeps it on the seat. The head rest is also great for keeping a young infant's shaky head in place, and not all car seats come with this. Having a canopy is ideal for keeping the sun off baby in the car & rain temporarily off baby when your trying to get to your car outside.

I FIRST PURCHASED AN EDDIE BAUER CAR SEAT FOR MY BABY LITTLE DID I KNOW THE SEAT WAS VERY HEAVY AND THAT THEY HAVE THE WEIGHT SIZE OF THE CHAIR ON THE DESCRIPTION IN THE STORES I THINK THAT SEAT WAS LIKE 14LBS ***WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING*** THEN I RETURNED IT AND BOUGHT THIS ONE WEIGHING ONLY A LITTLE OVER 8LBS AND MOST ARE THAT WEIGHT SO I WAS NOW NOTICING ON THE SPECS OF THEM. I LOVE THIS SEAT YES IT DOES FEEL HEAVY TO ME KNOW HOLDING MY 5TH OLD WHO IS NOW OVER 16LBS TOTAL WEIGHT OF ABOUT 25LBS. ...... I DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE HOLDS THEIR BABIES IN THESE FOR UP TO YR IT IS CRAZY. CHK SPECS ON BABY ITEMS BEFORE YOU BUY THEM ... THIS BY FAR WAS GREAT WHILE IT LASTED AND STYLISH AND KEPT MY BOOBOO BABY WARM WITH THE BOOT... ONE BAD THING THE HOOD IS STRANGE ON THIS COLOR RAIN DROPS ACTUALLY LEFT RINGS/ OR CIRCLES ON IT AND MAKES THE TOP LOOK BAD CONSIDERING I ONLY WENT FROM DOOR TO CAR A COUPLE OF FEET I FOUND THAT TO BE A FLAW IN THE MATERIAL... SO I REALLY GIVE IT A 4 STAR INSTEAD OF A 5.
