This book was wonderful. I read it in a single evening during my pregnancy. Snowy is a continuation of the book "The Cheerleader". I first read The Cheerleader when I was a teenager (38 now). I always wondered what had happened to Snowy and her friends. Imagine my pleasure when I located a copy of Snowy! The Author immediately took me back into the lives of Snowy, Tom, Puddles, Bev and the rest of the gang.....how their lives parted, changed and blended into adults and occasionally got back together again. The book starts right after High School and progresses with Snowy's life for 30 years. I felt satisfied after reading it knowing what had happened to everyone. Thank you Ruth Doan MacDougall.

"Snowy"
I have just finished reading the novel "Snowy" By Ruth Doan MacDougall. I have to say that I enjoyed the book very much. It follows Henrieatta Snow "Snowy",Who leaves her Parents home in small town Massachusetts. Leaving behind her best friends Bev(who she is not speaking to,Because of her boyfriend Tom)and Puddles, But most importantly her Ex-boyfriend Tom. Snowy goes to college and meets her roomate Harriet. Harriet helps mold Snowy into a Independent woman. They face many "adventures" together that Snowy wouldn't have experianced on her own. Snowy eventually begins to work in her College's work study program forcing her to move to Boston. There she becomes the Woman that she will eventually turn into. In Boston Snowy reunites with Puddles and an unexpected friend from her past.Snowy still struggles with the fallout from her break up with Tom,but eventually she comes to a peace and acceptance within herself.She is a full fledged "career girl" Ruth Doan MacDougall did exceptionally well at showing the dynamics of Snowy's life. I'm not going to reveal the end..It's something you have to read for yourself to fully appreciate.

Such Real Details of These Times
I read the Cheerleader and related entirely to the experiences during that time. I had even forgotten some of the problems, worries of growing up in those days. I could hardly wait to get my copy of Snowy to see the rest of the characters' lives. Again , more parallel experiences, well described. MacDougall is a great story teller that makes you relive real experiences. I was glad to read she takes the characters into the next life phase in Henrietta Snow so I can contue life's experience with them
