Broken Bolt
We purchased this gate almost two years ago and Absolutely loved it!! The nightlight was great and even though all our friends had to be taught to use it, it did it's job. Today just by opening it the bolt holding the gate on completly sheared in half!! I called safety 1st and they said without the original receipt there was nothing they could do!! They eventually said if we purchase the same gate and send that receipt and some parts of the old gate, they would refund the amount of the gate.

Worked well for a while
Overall this gate has worked well for us, but I would not recommend it. The first one we purchased did have a broken I bolt. I returned it to the store we purchased it from and they replaced it with a new gate. That one has now been up for 10 months. I found the gate to be somewhat difficult to open, but I assumed that was supposed to be the point. For the time we have used it I found it sturdy and durable. We open and close this gate multiple times each day. My daughter would hang off of it, shake it, and do general baby/toddler damage to it. It held up the entire time. Only recently did we have a problem with the plastic caps to the I bolts breaking. Overall I am concerned with all of the I bolt problems and would not recommend this product to anyone else because of that issue. I am currently searching for a replacement and will not buy this product again.

Most adults can't open it
90% of adults that need to use our gate can't open it. The plastic caps on top of the hinges are cheap and they break. If the caps come off, the gate can easily be taken off the hinges. <
