I would have preferred a different swing
My mother bought this swing for us at Christmas. I didn't register for a swing because I didn't really have a good place in our house to keep it. Our bouncer seemed to do the trick (with a vibrate mode). Perhaps if I had received this swing when my son was a newborn (he was 4 months when we got it) it would have worked out better.
Good - The side baskets are great for stuff; now he can grab things on his own, and they are right there. The canopy helps him feel secure when he is tired/ cranky, therefore helping him fall asleep faster. Good speed control and music. The motor seems to work well, compared to some swings my friends and family have owned.
Bad - There really isn't anything to entertain the baby. It has a very wide base, as most swings do, which gets in the way. I find the sound sensor useless.
If my baby starts crying, I'm going to go see what is wrong, not rely on some electronic device to sooth him. I do not believe in letting babies cry themselves back to sleep. If he is crying, there is a reason (hungry, scared, dirty diaper, etc). Plus, the swinging starts out slow, as most swings do. It would be faster to go check on the baby and activate it yourself (with a push start). Plus, I really wish he had something interesting to look at, not just 3 cheesy, dangling, little figures (which he now rips off and chews on - velcro, ouch).
I wish they had the Link-a-Doos travel swing when my son was born. That looks great.

Glad its off the market!
I REALLY wanted this swing. It was one of the only baby items I was set on having. I got it as a gift and we set it up. It wasnt hard to set up but once we put the batteries in it the motor didnt work. Toys R Us said it had been discontinuted, so we called Fisher Price and they sent us another motor assembly. Got it in the mail, put it on the swing and even though the motor comes on now, it wont even swing a baby doll!!! The thing barely moves. Now I've got to go and find another swing. Thank goodness our daughter hasnt arrived yet...

I'm glad the swing is discontinued!! Hopefully, it will keep others from being as disappointed as we are!

GREAT FOR YOUR MONEY!!
We bought this swing after doing a lot of research on the topic. We were very happy with it. Our daughter loved the swing and it made chores around the house much easier. The only thing we did not like was once our daughter was older the swing did not swing fast enough for her to behappy in it. Other than that she loved it.
