Customer Reviews of Simplified Tai chi Chuan with Applications (YMAA)
Simplified Tai Chi Chuan I teach a class of Tai Chi Chuan to Seniors at a Senior Center. This tape and DVD are very good. I like the format of the DVD better than the older tape. Not only do they show each posture, but it shows the speed at which you do the postures. You could use this DVD and tape to follow along at home. It also has calming music.
Great Video
This video has opened me up to the world of Tai Chi. Great for beginners who are simply looking to learn the movements. the 24 form is shown in detail, with applications, and the rear view is really helpfull. The 48 form is a bit tougher to pick up as it has no rear view.

>Over all its a great buy for the beginner, I guess it could be a refresher to the more advanced...in yang style that is...
Shows how a perfect DVD looks like
Perfect. Shows all angles, slideshow, entire form with breathing, shows how each and every part is applied. In my opinion, Tai Chi is pretty useless in a real self defense situation. If you want to learn how to survive, learn Kyukushin Karate or some other high impact contact sport. But that's not the purpose of this DVD anyway. Applications are in my opinion for the understanding, what one is doing in Tai Chi and it's fun to practise. You get all you need. If you want to practise the applications you can do it. If you are not interested in the application, you wont be bothered. If you want to concentrate on the solo form, just select your scene. The menue is straight fomward, still more than just informative. This DVD is defenitely its money worth....in my opinion.
