Best Stair Gate You Can Buy!!
We bought this gate to go at the top of our stairs. We had been using a little wood gate but were constantly having to step over it or just move it, then forget to put it back up. This one is so nice being mounted there. So easy to just open it up and then shut it again. Convenient and Safe! It is a very nice, sturdy metal gate. It took less than 30 minutes to install. And it even looks nice, unlike some of those wooden gates. It is easy for us to open, but way too hard for a child. It makes a "click" sound when you shut it to let you know it latched. Which is nice because you do need to make sure it latched for the safety of your children. And it can be expanded to fit even the widest places! We really like this gate - high quality and definately worth the money.

I feel safe w/my stairs
I gave this gate a 5 star for safety. It is very secure and I feel comfortable knowing when my 10mth is crawling in the hallway upstairs, I don't have to worry about him falling down the stairs. Assembly was a little difficult, although I am stationed overseas, the walls were difficult to drill holes in, but I'm sure if I was in a normal house it would have been alot easier. My son is in his climbing stage and loves to try to climb things so when he runs off and sneaks to the gate and tries to climb it and hold onto it, I fell comfort knowing it wont budge, although he doesn't get the chance to stay on there very long! I recommend this gate to anyone who is worried about thier stair problem w/kids!!

Great gate from a great company
We first installed one of these gates on our master bedroom door in 2001 when our oldest son began crawling. I was able to go into my room to check email or put laundry away and he could see me. Then the spring of 2003 we installed the same gate on his bedroom when he moved to his big boy bed at the age of two. He could come to his gate, see out, call to me in the next room but not wander the house at night. At that time we also installed one on the room we were preparing for his baby brother due later that summer. We put that gate up to keep him out of there while we worked on the room and later so he wouldn't bother the baby duing naps. We love these gates. Our oldest will be 4 next month and still lacks the hand pressure to open it. (He can open the Configure Gate across the end of the galley kitchen.)The knob does lock and break eventually. but the company is wonderful to deal with. No mater how long you have had the gate they will replace it with a new one. As soon as it starts locking up I email them with the problem and email my address and within 2 days I recieve a mailing label. We wrap the broken gate up in cardboard as best we can and tape it securely. Put the label on and bring it to the post office. Within 7 days a new gate arrives. We have replaced 2 of these gates. We are very happy with them and the customer service we have recieved. I expect to have at least 2 of these gates up in my house until the little one is 4--another 2 1/2 years and I am sure as they wear they will need replacing. But because it's too tall to climb over and our oldest can't open it we will continue to use them.
