Like NFL 2K3, NBA 2K3 is presented in the patented ESPN style. they have taken a step back i was also excited about buying this game only to find out that the people at visual concepts had taken a big step back. i was a fan of the series on dreamcast and had easily handed it the best basketball game of 2000 - 2002. well i purchased this game 4 days ago and haven't found a way to play more than 10 minutes total. to me the graphics look no better on gamecube than it did on dreamcast. second of all the gameplay ... the dunks look worse, the post play is horrible and the high lob passes will drive you crazy...the menus are confusing also. i don't think nba live 2003 is the answer but this game doesn't do it for me either. play 2k2 and save your money.
Excellent basketball game!
This is the best basketball available for Gamecube, which is unfortunate. NBA 2k4/series is not longer made for the Gamecube. NBA live is available but the gameplay is horrible. The X-Box version of 2k3 is online, which made me realize how lame the Gamecube is, luckily good Nitendo's own games are keeping Gamecube alive but still sad. Cool thing about this game is the create player. It has last name 'audio' feature. For example you create LeBron James and Carmello Anthony. When you play them the PA announcer will say 'James' or 'Anthony'! Feels like they are real players instead of 'created' players. This feature works if any other NBA players in the original rosters share the same last name. If you create Yao Ming then the PA says #11 or his number instead of Yao because no one else has the last name Yao, lol. This game is a huge improvement over 2k2 but 2k4(slightly more improved than 2k3) is even better than this game. The gameplay is very real, no more Mark Madsen dunking over Shaq crap. The post game is very real and not just bs style. The graphics is nice but few players dont look real. This game plays like a dream! The AI is smart but easier than 2k2, if you can play good then all star mode is easy. 2k3's all star mode is easier than 2k2's rookie setting. EASIER for the better and the gameplay is much more realistic. This is the only game my friends want to play now. Get ready to spent mega time adjust the roster to current. This game is solid especially the top 2 2k4 draft, LeBron and Carmello have their last name recognized! Also you can adjust all current players setting and the game slider feature is nice, you can adjust the game in many aspects. This is a masterpiece, beautifully made game. For only 10 to 15 bucks it's a GREAT deal. Overall this is a MUST have for basketball and sport fans.

This is the best basketball game made because if has many more features in it than nba live 2003.This game is also better han any basketball game now because the franchise mode is incredible because you make your own ways through the nba, like you coach your team, play with your team, make your own player, and win titles back to back if you are lucky.It also has street mode where you mix up players from any team and play on some of the geatest courts some nba stars played on when they were young.overall this is a good game when you play it. it might be the best basketball game you played and trust me I have it so go out and buy it I'm sure you are going to have fun playing it.
