Customer Reviews of Scooby's All Star Laff-a-Lympics - "Heavens to Hilarity"
A fabulous show for Hanna-Barbera fans everywhere! This is truly a H-B all-star event! 50 minutes of great fun and humor for the whole family, young and old alike. All the H-B stars are here. This one's from the 80's, back when H-B hadn't strayed too far from its roots. Truly fun and a classic!
Wacky Races Meets the Olympics - For Every Hanna Barbera Fan
This classic 70s cartoon featured a shmorgasborg of Hanna Barbera cartoon characters in an ongoing competition of wacky Olympic-esque events. Divided into three teams...the Yogi Yahooies (Yogie Bear and many of the older characters from the 50's and 60's); the Scooby Doobies (Scooby & Shaggy along with many of the new cartons at that time such as Cpt. Caveman, Hong Kong Phooey and the Blue Falcon) and the heels of the show, the Really Rottens (an assortment of villians headed by Dick Dastardly and Muttley - here inexplicably replacing Mumbly from 'Wacky Races' and 'Catch That Pigeon").
The tape is 50 min. of mostly slapstick humor and sight gags. Fans of any Hanna Barbara cartoons should enjoy this ensemble series(though watching it recently made me wish they had used a laugh track). All of the characters are given the spotlight at some time or another and they even let the Really Rottens win a few times, so the outcome never felt rigged. There is a guest appearance by Fred and Barney on this tape.
Also recommended (if you can find a copy), "Yogi's Gang", a pre-cursor to "Laff-A-Lympics" with the gang riding around in a flying ark solving crimes and fighting pollution and bigotry.
not enough Scooby
This is a cute movie but there is not enough Scooby in it to keep my two year olds attention. There is more "Yogie Bear" in this one than "Scooby Doo". We are die hard Scooby fans!
