Customer Reviews of Satan's Serenade: The Early Years
Quartz is the best band that you have never heard of. Quartz was a fine band that featured "sort of" band member Geoff Nicholls who went on to become "sort of" band member of Black Sabbath. Tony Iommi produced Quartz's first LP "Deleted" and Tony and Ozzy appeared on some Quartz singles. Anyway, Quartz played a sort of heavy NWoBHM mixed with classic Sab crunch. Stand out tunes like "Satan's Serenade" and "Wildfire" (featuring Sab riff "Megalomania) could be on any classic Sabbath album. The tune "Back in the Band" chronicles Ozzy's return to Sabbath in 1976. Bottom line is that you will love these guys if you like Ozzy era Sabbath. "Mainline Riders" sounds very similar to "Heaven and Hell".
