Customer Reviews of Saratoga DuoGlider Travel System
Good and Bad Points about Stroller We bought this stroller for our twin boys. The reason we opted for this stroller was because it would accomodate two Graco Infant Car Seats. That was the biggest selling point for us.
Thats the best feature about this stroller.
However, when both seats are in the stroller, you cannot access the basket underneath (this is because the rear seat needs to be fully reclined). Also I don't find the basket to be that large anyways, and have never found it very easy to access even if the seats aren't in the reclined position.
Another drawback, now that the babies are 8 months old and getting bigger, if we do have both carseats snapped in, the baby's feet in the front seat are cramped because the infant seat in the rear is very close.
We also had the wheel problem. We had gone on a very long walk on paved sidewalk, and the rear wheel just rolled off! It was extremely difficult to put on again. I was just glad my husband was with me, otherwise I would have been totally stranded and probably would have had to leave that darn stroller abandonded. He ended finding a rock to use and hammered the wheel on that way.
When the rear canopy is pulled back, you cannot access the parent's cup tray holder.
I have also had problems with the front canopy coming off (when folding it and unfolding it) and then it's very difficult to put on.
Also, like another reader said the back harness restraint doesn't provide much support as it doesn't come up very high on my baby.
The stroller folds up nicely but it heavy and bulky to carry around. It wouldn't fit in my Corolla but we ended up buying a larger car anyways.
One of the pluses about this stroller is that the rear seat is higher so the child in back can see out really well.
Also, the wheels turn really well, providing of course all 4 actually stay on!
Best Double Stroller Out There!
Okay I have owned my System for over a year now. I haven't had many major problems with it. My canopy broke off but that was totally my fault. My 2 and 1 yr old currently use it. The car seat was well used...lite weight and comfy for my infant son. The stroller is great...nice manueverability, as lite as a double stroller could get. I've taken them shopping during xmas no problem at the crowded malls. I've owned two single strollers prior to this one and out of all of them this one is the best. Just a word of warning though. ALWAYS PUT THE HEAVIEST CHILD IN THE FRONT SEAT (as instructed in the owners' manual). Having most of the weight in the back is a hazard. I was in the parking lot and after unloading my oldest from the seat i was trying to get the canopy off or something and i must have tilted it up and the entire stroller fell backward with my infant son in the carseat attached to the rear seat. He was FINE!!! he was strapped in, sleep and never woke up! so now on i just make sure i put the heaviest one in first and take the heaviest on out last. I gave it 4 out 5 for the "rear tipping hazard", no access to the basket when the rear seat is flat. Great stroller considering the choices for a double stroller...but be careful with the weight distribution.
Twin Mommy
This stroller has been a great help to a Mom and Dad who are trying to get through the hectic first year odf twins! It is light and sturdy, and my little boys love riding in it(6 months old)My wheels have never fallen off, so I am not sure why some reviewers are complaining. All I can say is maybe you are being too rough in taking care of the stroller. The only complaint I have is that my wheels are squeaking a bit, and my husband has put WD40 on them a few times. Other than that, this is the best twin stroller out there, as long as you treat it correctly!!
