Customer Reviews of Santa Fe Pack N Play
Not at all hard to put together... Like many others, my husband and I chose this pack and play because of the features and price. I was a little concerned when I started reading the other reviews about the difficulty putting it together though. When we started putting it together, I read the directions aloud to my husband as he assembled it. Initially he had some trouble when he tried moving ahead as unlike our last pack and play, you do have to have the feet together to lock the sides. Once listening to the directions, he had no trouble opening OR closing the system. The bassinett and changing table are laying completely flat and appear to be on sturdy but having not had the baby yet, I don't know if something will suddenly change once he is here which is the ONLY reason I didn't give this item 5 stars - yet. :-) By the way, this is the 3rd pack and play we have had over the years and it has by far the nicest mat...VERY thick unlike some of the others where you can almost feel the metal bars under it.
Returned it!
This is the worst piece of baby equipment I have ever attempted to use! It is extremely difficult to put together, so much so that I returned it soon after assembling it the first time.
So far so good
I had illusions of baby sleeping in her crib from day 1....WRONG!!! Our little girl slept in the bassinet of the pack n play exclusively until 2 months old. The crib was just too big for her, she preferred to be more confined. She was also fascinated by...get this...the contrast in the lettering of the warnings written on the side of the bassinet. There is a whole wall of writing, white on navy background, she would stare at this forever. Once that became boring, she LOVED the mobile. She would sit for an hour in there and just look at the ponies. The only problem with the mobile was getting her in the bassinet while sleeping without hitting her head on the ponies. They are soft and harmless but it would wake her up if I ran into one.
After 2 months when she graduated to the crib, she would just nap in the bassinet. She did reach the height confines before the weight limit of 15 lbs. Also there was some sagging as she got heavier, but this was to be expected in something that does not have a solid bottom (it is supported by vinyl fabric). We used the changing table only a few times as she was very squirmy and it was tough to keep her flat. The changing table was a toy collector until she outgrew the bassinet. Now the whole thing is a toy box until she is old enough to sit up and can play in the bottom of the play yard. We'll see how it does as a play yard, but overall we are happy with how it performed as a bassinet. We'll also use it for a crib for her when we go on vacation in October.
