San Jose Magazine I still haven't received a copy yet. So my review is incomplete. So far not happy but I don't know what their circulation is? So until I get the product I am disappointed.
If you want to read about paid advertisements...
This is the one! I moved to the Bay Area and all you would read about are local celebs (news anchors, etc). You would occasionally read about the SUPER RICH, but who cares right?

I thought this magazine was so bad that after a year's subscription that I paid for, they kept mailing it to me. I had to WRITE them a letter to tell them to stop! That BAD!
Just in case you're wondering...
...San Jose Magazine is set up in pretty much the same format as other periodicals dedicated to a medium-to-large-size city and its surrounding suburbs. There's lotsa glossy color-photo-laden pages, half of which are advertisements of both local and national businesses. There's the obligatory "human interest" story, such as the trials and tribulations of the one-legged SJSU football player. There's the big cover story, which is usually a fluff interview of a local celebrity or corporate/political bigwig. There's the two-page op-ed piece, and the one-page humor column that attempts to ape the style of Dave Barry, both of which are usually found near the front ('cuz if they were near the back, no one would read 'em). Also included are photos of the previous month's big charity event(s) hosted by a locally-based outfit trying to score brownie points with the public for thier "efforts to improve the community", as well as a calendar of all the major events (Sharks games, concerts, trade shows, etc) that'll be taking place the following month.
Oh yes, let's not forget a top 10/50/100 list that pops up on occasion (the last such list I saw in this publication was "The 50 Most Beautiful Homes in the Silicon Valley"). There's also the occasional article that celebrates the anniversary of the creation/dedication of a local landmark (such as the 10th anniversary of the opening of the San Jose Arena, AKA 'The Tank'), or the birthday of some local historical figure who "pioneered something-or-other in the Silicon Valley, and helped make it what it is today".
And finally: there's the dining guide, a section I usually ignore 'cuz they never do ratings and reviews of the dining spots I go to. There might come a day when they'll finally come around to doing a piece on my fave Taco Bell... but I doubt it.
