Customer Reviews of Sailor Moon SuperS - Pegasus Collection 6
SuperS I looooove Sailor Moon! And I think anyone who likes good anime should buy this dvd. This dvd has 6 uncut episodes on it.I love the episode Chibi Usa's Little Rhapsody of Love!If you can read fast, you should watch the sub.I don't have a big problem with the dub,it's good but the sub is on a whole different page.Anyway, the 6 episodes are:
1.The secret of Pegasus! The handsome gaurdian of the dream world
2.Rini's little rhapsody of love
3.Dream to be an adult! The amazoness' bewilderment
4.Coming terror!The dark queen's evil approach
5.The center of darkness:Dead moon circus
6. Labyrinth of mirrors!Chibi Moon(Mini Moon in the dub)Captured
You should get this dvd! This one answers just about all questions you have about SuperS.
"Super" Cool
Above all Sailor Moon DVDs, this one is my favorite!!!!!!! I think it deserves even more than 5 stars.
The DVD is mainly about Chibiusa & Pegasus. Awww, what a super-kawaii("cute" in Japanese)couple they are!
Episode #1: the secret of Pegasus: Palla-Palla makes Chibiusa and Usagi's ages get mixed up, as Chibiusa becomes a teenager and Usagi becomes chibi. Chibiusa has a very interesting dream!
Episode #2:Chibiusa's little rhapsody of love: Usagi and the others find out that Chibiusa has a boyfriend! They play a variety of guessing games to find out who.Even Mamoru has a turn to try to make Chibiusa tell who she likes!!! In the end they stil dontknow. ;)veeeeery funny!!!
Episode #3:Dream to be an adult: Usagi & co. decide to help out with the "coming-of age ceremony"(yes, there is such thing in Japan.) The Amazoness Quartet also decides to help. They find out that they like the people of Earth a little.
Episode #4:Coming Terror:Chibiusa runs in a marathon with her class, so Usagi & Co. say they'll treat her to something. Turns out they're late to the cafe(and boy, is Chibiusa mad!). Minako notices that the sky is darker than usual. Mamoru collapses and Chibiusa gets worried 'cause it was the second time he collapsed that day.Later on, Pegasus tells Chibiusa that he has to leave.(VERY SAD Scene in Japanese!!!!)Usagi & co. find the Amazon Girls(not in costumes)trying to find dream mirrors and they each learn eachother's secret identities.
Episode #5:The centre of darkness: Pegasus tells them about the Golden Crystal. The Scouts find out Chibiusa has known Pegasus. Then, Usagi & Co. say goodbye to Mamoru.very cheesy love scene. The Dead Moon Circus is right outside and they fight thier way into the tent.Zirconia ends up capturing ChibiMoon.
Episode #6:Dead Moon Circus, Labrynth of Mirrors: Chibimoon finds Pegasus.(he's in a pathetic state, unconsious and hanging upside-down in some cagelike thing.)Queen Nepherenia finds her! She tells Chibiusa a story.(note that Pegasus's eyes are orange, not grey, as they are in the story.)Zirconia tricks the Scouts when they are lost in a mirror house. The Amazoness quartet take Pegasus(pegasus form)& Chibiusa away from Nepherenia and try to take away the Golden Crystal. Chibiusa tells them that they should try to save Pegasus. Zirconia catches them, traps the Quartet in Mirrors, and Chibiusa is sent back to Nepherenia.
This is a really good DVD, and it's DEFINITELY worth the money if you're a Sailor Moon fan, like me. ;)
Good set
INTRODUCTION:
Sailor Moon is an anime that first aired in 1992. It was based on a manga series created by Nakao Takeuchi, best known for her Sailor V series at the time. In no time at all, the series had become wildly popular, and in the mid-nineties it was ported to America. Unfortunately, it was severely edited. Some entire episodes were missing and the dialogue was butchered. Fans cried out for uncut episodes. And finally, early in the new millennium, uncensored DVDs were released. The entire Super S series, the fourth of five series, is now available uncut on DVD! Read on for my review of this set.
BASIC PLOT:
This is the fourth of the five Sailor Moon series. By now the Death Busters have been defeated, and Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus have left town. Sailor Chibi Moon has also decided to remain in the present time period rather than go back to the future. Unfortunately, the peace period is short lived. A new series of villains has arrived on the scene following the occurence of an eclipse. These new villains hunt down humans for their dream mirrors, in hope that they will find the one that their master desires. And all the while, Chibiusa keeps getting visits from a mysterious Pegasus in her dreams. What's up with this? This saga of Sailor Moon rages on for about thirty episodes.
SERIES OPINIONS:
Overall, this is a good Sailor Moon saga, but when compared to the other sagas of the series, it's strictly average. The Dream Mirror thing is pretty much a rip-off of the Heart Crystal thing from the previous series, the S series. Likewise, Chibiusa is an annoying character - although she's not QUITE as bad as people make her out to be. If you're a fan of the series, check this saga out. I think you'll enjoy it.
THE DUB:
The dubbed version of the series is in many ways better than previous sagas that have been dubbed, and worse in many ways. It's better in that it uses the original background music and that more of the character names than ever before are close to their originals, but it's worse in that some scenes are horribly translated, and many of them have been Americanized, often with horrible slang. Here's a little tip - while you're watching the Japanese subtitled version of the DVD, hit the Audio button on your DVD remote and switch to the dub track. This way you can watch the English dub with the English subtitles for the Japanese version - there's no better way to see how bad some of the translations are!
DVD:
Once again, DVDs featuring an uncut dub and an uncut sub have been released. This is great because you get both versions of the series. Unfortunately, these DVDs are severely lacking in the extras department. Why couldn't they give us things like production art and interviews with cast and crew? Those would have been great extras!
OVERALL:
Overall this is an excellent DVD set, but I remain confident that I could also have been done much better. Still, if you're a Sailor Moon fan, this is a strongly recommended release.
