Graco does it again
I just purchased this carseat after the handle on my Evenflo carseat broke. It could no longer be attached to the base. When I called Evenflo to complain, they offered to SELL me another carseat. Thanks for nothing. They said it was beyond the 90 warranty, which is useless in and of itself because you can return it to the store within 90 days, so that was the best they could do. When I stated it was a safety issue and the handle never should have broken, they reiterated the warranty and said that was the best they could do. Only offering a 90 day warranty says something about the quality of their products!!! I will never buy an Evenflo product again. I also had a problem with one of the strollers. The quality is substandard and their customer service is terrible. I purchased this because of the reviews and that it can be used for a longer period of time. My daughter is already 4 months and 16 lbs. Thank you especially to the reviewer who placed the pictures online showing the difference between the Snug Ride version and this one. It helped make my decision. I love this car seat. It was very easy to install the base in my vehicle. I chose to use the seatbelt to fasten the base rather than the latch and it was very simple. The belt lock off device built into the base allows any seatbelt to hold the base securely without any additional fasteners and it does not move at all. The seat clips easily into and out of the base. The canopy is extra large to cover more of your baby than most seats and it rotates 180 degrees. The material is comfortable and the additional shock absorbing padding is a plus. Graco went all out for safety. It is slightly heavier than most infant carriers and it is longer to accomodate for a bigger infant and therefore takes up a little more room in my vehicle, but these are minor drawbacks for all the advantages this car seat offers. It also clips onto any Graco carriage to make it a travel system. Finally, someone came out with a carrier to accomodate infants up to 1 year.
Excellent for big or very long babies!
This infant car seat is one of only two that I know of that you can keep your infant in when they are past 26" in length. In fact, you can keep your child in it until they weigh 30 pounds and are 32" long - most children will fit until they are a year old. I had a Graco snugride, and my son outgrew it at 4 months because he was already 27"! My first child stayed in the snugride until she was 9 months old, so imagine my disappointment when I found out I had to buy another car seat. I was not willing to give up the ease of "the bucket" that early for him.

>I bought this car seat, and I have been very happy with it. The straps are easy to adjust and work much better than my old snugride. The buckles work very smoothly, and I like that the sunshade goes wayyy over his head to block the sun (and his sister) from bothering him. The car seat is still roomy and well padded. He is now 8 months old and I can no longer pick him up in this car seat, but I just leave it in the car and buckle him in and out of it like a regular car seat. I used this car seat with the Snap-n-go Universal car seat carrier stroller and it works fine.

>My son has been comfortable in this car seat. It was very easy to install and is also easy to use if you need to move it to another car. Even without the base, it is pretty easy to strap in. I have a Honda Odyssey and there is plety of room for this car seat, but I'm not sure if you had a smaller car if it would fit. It is not as wide as some models, but it is pretty long.

>Three caveats:
<
>1. the seat material is somewhat shiny and made out of nylon? and I wasn't sure if he would like it or be too hot, but so far it hasn't seemed to matter to him. We will see what it is like once it gets hot this summer. The nice thing is that if your baby spits up or gets stuff on it, it mostly wipes off. However, I read another review where they said there are models with different print, so maybe that is a better way to go.

>2. You can't really put this car seat in the grocery cart. I guess you are not supposed to anyway, but it is very convenient, so I did. My daughter reached up and pulled on the seat and it fell off the top of the cart. I was right there and somehow managed to catch it, but it scared the life out of me. I started putting him inside the actual cart, but then you can't put a lot of groceries in the cart. At this point, he is old enough to sit up in the cart alone, so I leave the car seat in the car.

>3. This car seat is a bit bigger and bulkier than others out there. If I had a little bitty baby, it might seem like overkill to lug around such a big car seat all the time. I happened to have a big baby this time around, and I had no choice, except to go directly to the convertible car seat. The nice thing is that you will use this car seat for a lot longer than other infant car seats.
