The E5s incorporate the first dual-driver, universal-fit design on the professional market. Developed in conjunction with Westone Labs and Ultimate Ears, they use proprietary low-mass/high-energy drivers. The E5's in-ear design, using foam or flex sleeves (both supplied), naturally blocks background noise. This permits lower listening volumes in loud environments--critical in safeguarding your hearing during performance or other activities. No batteries or extra equipment are needed for sound isolation.

The E5's micro-speakers are of Shure's highest-quality construction. Each earphone contains dual micro-speakers, separating high- and low-frequency range; an in-line electronic crossover optimally separates these outputs, while a level attenuator allows comfortable listening levels for any high-output audio source.

Because every ear is different, E5s earphones come with a pair of disposable foam sleeves, a pair of triple-flange sleeves, 3 pairs (small, medium, large) of flex sleeves, and 3 pairs (small, medium, large) ultra-soft flex sleeves to ensure a personalized fit. These disposable foam sleeves gently compress to fit in the ear canal. Once in the ear, the foam expands to form a tight seal. Once tightly sealed, the sleeves hold the earphones firmly in place.

The E5's cables pass behind the ear--out of sight and out of the way for comfort and discretion. Once formed, the E5's cables retain their shape around your ears, granting a secure, more convenient fit. Weighing only 1.1 ounces, the E5 is lightweight and comfortable enough for any portable listening application.
