Customer Reviews of SEGA House of the Dead 2
Cool game, horrible voice acting!!!!!! This game is pretty neat. If you are player 1 then you are this guy named James (no not James Bond). This game has so so graphics. What really sucks the coolness out of this game is the voice acting. The characters sound like mindless robots!!! There is barely any emotion in the voice acting!!! And the game is kind of short. But the reason that I gave this game a 5 star rating is because of the good controls and gameplay. So all in all, the games strong points make up for its weak points. It is worth the money. This game has a LOT of (green) blood and gore but it is very unrealistic.
Best played with the Light Guns
This is an arcade-perfect conversion of HOTD2. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are all top notch (assuming you like rail-shooters to begin with). In Japan, this game shipped with a light gun for the PC. But not in Europe or North America. However, you CAN play this game with the Act Labs PC USB light gun. You can even get two light guns and play two players! A friend of mine recently came to visit me, and we spent several hours a day shooting zombies together. It was every bit as fun, and so much less expensive than playing this game at the local arcade. If you like rail shooters, this is one of the best on any platform. Without a doubt, the best on the PC. You can play this game with a mouse, keyboard, or joystick/gamepad. But I highly recommend getting at least one light gun, if not two. It's how the game was meant to be played.
For people who like a challenge
First off, you should know that this game has practically no replay value. However, the first time you play it is a blast. It says that you can play with a buddy, fighting the forces of evil, but this is an awful way to play considering that one of the players has to use the keyboard to move the crosshair. That makes it virtually impossible for you to beat the final boss, because he moves so fast. Also, you should definitley not play if you get tired easily. You have to click the mouse like a million clicks a second, just to kill a regular boss. you can eaily get carple tunnel syndrome from playing this game too much. I found that I had to pause the game a couple of times, just to let my wrist rest for twenty minutes. I would give 4/5 stars on graphics. I see myself as a very skilled gamer, but even I had much trouble defeating the final boss. I probably spent a total of 2 hours playing this game. The game is not very realistic, but it is not supposed to be. I really liked how there are quite a number of different paths that you can take throughout the game. My mom really didn't like me playing this game...oh well. So, I gave it 3 stars because of its short gameplay, and inevitable pain, but i only bought it for 5 bucks at a store, so it was well worth it. Its not really a bad game at all. I say if you see it for $10 or less get it, but if you don't, get Time Splitters cheap on ebay.
