Great for traveling, this kettle uses a 1,000-watt concealed heating element to quickly boil water for tea, hot chocolate, instant coffee, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Two cups and spoons--in gleaming white plastic to match the kettle's exterior--come along and fit inside the kettle for packing. The kettle holds .85 liter, or 3-1/2 (8-ounce) cups. A great LITTLE kettle I was given this kettle as a gift and have had more use out of it than any other kitchen appliance in my house. I use it every day, three or four times, and have never had it boil over, boil dry or short out. It has no exposed element, so it is easy to clean (a little vinegar in water once a month prevents calcium build-up). After two years of daily use, I now have occasional problems in that it does not begin to boil even when the pilot light indicates it should be boiling. I dismantled it, rethreaded the wiring and now it works perfectly again. <

>The only drawback to this kettle is that it holds such a small volume. This is an ideal kettle for a single person using the kettle for one or two cups of tea, but not for a family requiring larger volumes of boiling water. Nevertheless, despite its small holding volume, it boils quickly, so even if the need arises for a larger volume of boiling water, one can simply refill the kettle two or three times and still be in time to join friends in a cup of tea!

It's a nice travel hot pot, but I was looking for something bigger. The pictures make it look bigger than it really is, beware of that. It holds less than a liter of water.
