Fine, but can be better I just got the Royal JS800 ($25) and the Identity Guard Cross-cut C505PZ ($30) from Staples for Christmas at the same time, so I was able to test them at the same time. The cross-cut won hands down. It is black so it looks nicer, first of all. Next, because it cross-cuts, it seems to take more time filling up the wastepaper basket. The Royal was full after maybe 10 sheets. Also the cross-cut provides more security. This might sound anal, but if you are looking for a shredder, you might be. The nice thing about the Royal is that it is very quiet, whereas the IdentityGuard is noisy and the paper starts jiggling about as it goes down. Of course, I cannot speak as to reliability as I just opened both today.

A good paper shredder for family use at a reseasonable price. We have used it for over a month. We like it very much.
Good reliable
I've used this shredder moderately for around four weeks now. It's steady, reliable, and not noisy. I like the sleek shape, fits nicely in my study. I wish they made it in black too. Would suit it's personality!
