The Dawson's Creek comparison is also valid in an undesirable way: many of the background songs that characterized the series have been replaced for DVD due to licensing expenses. Newcomers to the series, of course, probably won't notice. Four episodes have commentary tracks, two by Frakes, who has some interesting information but leaves dead air and introduces characters we already know. Better are the tracks by executive producer/writer Ronald D. Moore on the Bewitched spoof and by creator Jason Katims on the series finale. Other features are a 13-minute summary of the season and Shiri Appleby's appearance on Japanese TV to publicize the DVD release of the first season in 2004. --David Horiuchi

Customer Reviews of Roswell - The Complete Third Season (The Final Chapter)
I can't believe its over!!! For a long time I'd never even heard of Roswell. Then, one day, when I was working in the library, I came across two of the books from the series. I immediatly read them, and have been hooked ever since. I was thrilled to discover that they had a t.v. show and bought the first season the very next day. I loved it! I'm sorry to see this show go. However, this was still a season and final farewell. BUY IT!!!!!!!
A let down for a late fan
Our entire family got hooked on Roswell after the first season came out on DVD. Then we waited (quite impatiently!) for season 2 and watched the entire 2nd season in 4 days. Needless to say, we were HOOKED and incredibly excited about season 3. The day Amazon took pre-orders we had ours in and finally watched them all this last month. WE WERE SO DISAPPOINTED! Maybe because the show switched networks, or maybe because it knew it was ending, but for whatever reason the 3rd season leaves so much unanswered and brings up a lot of questions in the process. Season 3 doesn't really pull you in or start getting "exciting" until the third of the five disks, and that is a big disappointment--especially seeing how all of season 2 just moved right along and drew you in. If you are a fan, then you'll probably get Season 3 to see for yourself, but it just might be better to love season's 1 and 2 and pretend the show just goes on forever...
Say It Ain't Over!!
Roswell season 3, I have been waiting for this show to come to dvd for so long. When it actually ran on TV, I only got to watch season 1. And so I have had a long wait to see how it all ends. And let me tell you, it was totally worth the wait!

>Season one really came across as a teen angst drama, and season 2 really increased the sci-fi action to high levels, but it's really season 3 that sets the standard. We have alien action, but we also get to see the characters as they make the transisiton to adulthood.

>Does it work?

>Yes, it works wonderfully. This is definately a must have chapter to the saga. I am still shocked when I see other reviewers say that they won't buy this season or that season. I mean how can you be a fan and not buy all 3? Now, here are some of my thoughts on this show:
<
>First off, I think the show did very well in letting the characters grow. My only complaint is that somethings are almost too rushed. I mean (WARNING SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) when Max dies, Liz and Maria are the only 2 that seem to care. I know that the rest are busy taking care of Isabel. But you would still think that their characters would be distraught and depressed that Max is gone.(Note: For all viewers who have never seen this season, don't worry about Max's "death". It all works out good. I promise!)

>A second thing I didn't care for was the "Bewitched" paraody. Not to say that it's not pretty funny, but somehow it doesn't fit the episode. I mean this is a period where the aliens face one of their greatest threats to the secret. Not really a time to be trying to make a joke out of it. Still though, the humor in Roswell is perfect. After the show starts off with such a tense and heavy bang in the first episode, it's nice to have all the humor in the "Snapple" one. That was in the right place. And I think this episode would've worked better in another place in the series.

>So overall the season is very well done. It does have a few flaws, but what show doesn't? And don't let other reviewers bring you down, the ending is really good too. I mean, you want it to go on, but at least it ends good.

>That being said, it brings me to my biggest complaint about the series............It's too short!!!!!! I can't believe this show only lasted for 3 seasons and 61 episodes! It is still one of the best shows I have ever seen. So come on everybody, if we work hard enough, show enough support for Roswell, maybe we can get them to at the very least make a Roswell movie!!!! After all, Family Guy got put back on the air because people cared about it. If we show enough love for this show, maybe we can get something more done too!! Wouldn't that be sweet.....

>But if not, at least now that the dvds are out we can all enjoy Max, Liz, Isabel, and the gangs adventures over and over again. Definately worth the money. You gotta get this dvd.
