(...)I'll try my hand at it. Outbreak is an ambitious attempt to bring Resident Evil online and it does more right than wrong. The game starts by allowing the player to choose one of eight different characters each with strengths and weaknesses. Then the player chooses a scenario(only one is available from the beginning) and is placed with up to 3 other players online or 2 AI controlled player in single player.

Immediately, the player will notice some changes from other Resident Evil games. First, the inventory and map screens don't pause the game any more. Therefore, if you are getting attacked and hit the inventory button to use an herb or first aid spray, the creature doesn't stop beating you down. Second, zombies can now come through doors, up stairs, pretty much anywhere you can go. It also seems a lot harder to die in RE:Outbreak. Everyone is infected with the virus right from the beginning. The meter goes up consistantly and can go up faster if you are being attacked or hiding from zombies or are hurt badly. However, the only time death occurs it seems is when the meter reached 100 percent, even if your health meter is at danger(this seemed to only increase the rate at which the virus spreads). When online dying makes you a zombie for a few, offline it ends the game. Finally, Capcom added a cool bonus that works sort of like Marvel vs Capcom 2. Once you complete a scenario(whether by dying or finishing it) you gain a rank and points to spend in the collectables section to unlock goodies such as extra costumes and movies.

The game looks nice, but not quite as good as the Gamecube versions of RE. In fact, if Nintendo didn't have such a bad policy about online games this would have probably been ported to the Gamecube instead. The sound is average, the music is what you what expect from RE, and the language is what you would expect from Manhunt or The Suffering, which is kind of cool for the older players, but will probably give some 12 year old's mom a heart attack.

The negative side of the game seems to be the atrocious load times, which make the game almost unbearable at times. The HDD supposedly corrects this so if you have the hard drive, this may not be a factor. Also the controls are pretty complicated, but with a little play time I was able to figure out what I was doing, just don't make your first game an online one. Overall, the game is blast with just a few shortcomings that detract from the overall experience.

RESIDENT EVIL FOREVER
This game is going to be, by far the best Resident Evil game to date, this coming not only from a Resident Evil Fan, but a huge Gamer as well. Considering this is much much better than pervious games, and if you even enjoyed them slightly than you should love this game... If you are here to purchase Resident Evil Outbreak, than you are 0bviously familiar with the controls, and the camera, and you should be 100% fine with those very minor downgrades, I know they dont bother me. I can personally GUARANTEE THIS GAME WILL BE AWESOME. People who are trying to say this game is no good, are stupid, ignorant people, who are obviously not Resident Evil Fans at all. This game will feature online play, but if your not able to play online, as many of you will not, This game is just as enjoyable in offline mode as it is online. This is going to be by far the longest entry into the series yet, featuring over 20 hours of gameplay. If you enjoyed pervious Resident Evil Games at all, this Game betters them in every way, Graphics, Gameplay, and just overall FUN Factor. This is going to be the best Resident Evil to hit shelves in a long while. Anyone who is saying this game is no good, is totally being ignorant, and they probably don't know anyting about this game. I have been following this game for a long time now, and I can tell you that there is going to be enough in this game to keep you occupied for a very long time. If you are even slighty a fan of Video Games, than this is going to be one of the GREATEST YOU WILL EVER PLAY... enjoy it!

by far one of the best re games for ps yet it has stuning graphics, online capeable (with no extra fee), a variety of charectors and scenarios> completly worth the price. there is an almost never ending selection of extas you can unlock throughout the game like costumes, movies, pictures, harder dificulties and more.
