Customer Reviews of Remanufactured Philips 32PF7320A/37B 32-Inch HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV
One star is too good for this refurbished Philips I purchased this one from the Philips outlet. While I have purchased refurbished from other manufacturers, Philips neglects to fix the items before they resell them. This came with a 90-day warranty. I was happy with the TV during those first 90 days, even if some things didn't work. I just thought that I didn't know what I was doing even though I had read the manual. CableCard did not work but cable installer and Philips both blamed it on the CableCard technology. I couldn't get the PIP to work but I also didn't care much about it so didn't get out the manual and go through it step by step. Two weeks outside of the 90-day warranty, the TV failed completely. Set would no longer power up and red led flashes on the front of the TV. Google search Philips Authorized Service and you will find story after story of dissatisfied customers. YouTube has a video of the intermittent video problems that many Philips LCD and Plasmas have. Mine will require replacement of the small signal board which retails for as much as I paid Philips 120 days ago ($800) and backordered. Philips won't even respond to an email once they determine you are outside of the warranty period and didn't keep a record of the call I made reporting problems with the cablecard within the warranty period. Latest Philips customer service rep said that "the good thing is you don't have to send it to a Philips Authorized Service Center to repair it. You can get it serviced anywhere!" And I said that the bad thing is that I have to pay for the repair. He did advise me to make sure I got a cost estimate before the repair was done to "make sure it was worth it." What am I supposed to do? Throw away $800 for the use of a pretty cool flat panel for 3 months? Time will tell anyway because my repair technician is still waiting, three weeks later, for the Philips representative to get back to us. <

>Buy Panasonic. Buy Sony. Buy Sharp. Buy anything but Philips. (And the horrible customer service seems to hold true for much of their product line, from Sonicare toothbrushes to home theater and flat panel displays. I hope it isn't true for their medical equipment.)
Haters be damned!
Not only is the physical appearance of this TV ridiculously good looking but the picture is none to shabby either. DVDs look crazy good, X-Box (plain old X-Box not 360)is also quite nice. I researched the crap out of TVs before arriving at this one. You want to know what got me? Not the Two component and 2 HDMI inputs. Not the Cable Card slot. It's the USB port used for updating soft and firmware, what a smart idea. Along with th TV I ordered a USB thumbdirve, dowloaded the Upgrade from Philips Support site and now my TV's software is fully up to date, they also release these updates pretty regularly as the latest one was from only a couple of weeks ago. Now with all that positive feedback why a 4 and not a 5? Well SDTV looks like crap and my extra sucktacular cable does nothing to help this situation. The TV takes a few seconds to fire up, something people who are used to CRTs will not at first get or be happy with. Next, Philips support phone line is useless. The obviously in India call center reps who neither understand you or can be understood by you served me no purpose. I noticed the channel was always displayed and called to find out how to fix it, they knew nothing and said th TV did not have the "feature" to turn this off. The feature people! This is standard on any crap TV. Well as it turns out, the software/firmware upgrade fixes this problem ad I feel they should have known this and shared the info with me as well as anyone else calling. Phillips live support is horrific, there web site however is the coldest and worked like a champ so I would suggest that be the way you go with service concerns.
