Customer Reviews of Reebok: Power Blast - Cardio Circuit Training
Works up a good sweat on an intermediate/advanced level This video was great! I like to work up a sweat when I do my workouts and this one did it. There is alternating of lots of jumping moves in this video with lower body toning(squats, lunges, etc.). There is not much of an upper body workout if you are considering to do a workout with some upper body toning. At the end there is like a 5-10 minute section where you do some punches like Tae-Bo and some calisthenics for the upper body. Overall this tape gave me a good aerobic workout.
Atheltic workout great for men and women.
This tape is taught by Lisa Gaylord, and incorporates movements from various martial arts, boxing, skating, basketball, you name it. She starts out with a martial arts inspired, unique warm-up, then moves into a cardio interval section where she alternated pretty straightforward hi impact cardio (done for a few minutes) with anaerobic activity like squats, lunges and plyometric moves that really fatigue the muscles and get the heart rate up. It's fun and nonrepetitive because she uses things like skater's lunges and basketball jumpshots to work your body. After the interval section, she leads you through a brief but effective series of kicks that won't do much for a dedicated Tae-Bo fan but it's fun and keeps the blood flowing. The last section before the cool down is upper body, done first with a series of punching combos and then moves down to the floor for a pushup combo that works the arms, chest, upper back and even the abs a bit. There is no ab section, per se, but other than that it's a thorough workout that doesn't use dancy choreography or silicone injected intrsuctors, though with the athletic nature of the entire tape I was surprised that there weren't any men in the class. The cool down follows the warm up in that it's martial arts based. This is certainly more geared towards an intermediate level exerciser or higher, as most of the explosive moves and cardio will be a bit daunting for a beginner. This should appeal to more sports minded men and women. It's a great workout that covers a lot and gives you a very complete workout in a surprisingly short amount of time (minus cool down and warm up it's about 35 minutes long), though it won't feel short while you're doing it, I promise! Hard to find, but well worth the effort if you do.
Buffies need not apply
Are you tired of workout videos instructed by Buffies who don't want to mess up their cute body suits with sweat? Power Blast offers a hard core work out to boost strength and agility. It is instructed by and features buff women who know how to get busy. This workout is like Tae Bo with attitude.
