Customer Reviews of Red/Black Jeep Wrangler Twin Umbrella Stroller
TERRIBLE customer service I am the mother of 6 month old twin boys. I have an Eddie Bauer front & back double stroller that is wonderful for longer trips where I will be walking a lot. <
>I needed this stroller to get my boys into & out of daycare as they are getting too heavy to carry in their car seats. My husband purchased the stroller at the local Babies R Us store & when I went to put it together, an axle for one of the rear wheels was missing. <
>I called the manufacturer the next morning & the customer service rep was very rude & didn't want to help me, even though it was a manufacturing problem. <
>I still don't have the replacement part, even though it's been several days. The company refused to overnight the replacement part, so I have to wait until it arrives in the mail. <
>As a consumer, I expect to be able to use any product I buy when I buy it, not a week or so later. <
>The company's response & attitude has been that I have to wait. That is unacceptable. I now refuse to buy anything from Kolcraft in the future.
4 1/2 stars, great umbrella double

>First was the double snap n go, I'm not sure if that was the brand, but thats what it was (borrowed from a friend). Well that was GREAT for infant carriers, but the boys started to become TERRIBLE car passengers at around 6 months, they could still fit, but HATED that seat... So we could no longer use our lightweight, and convinient stroller.

>So we tried the DuoGlider... This was a MONSTER. I dont understand how ANYONE could use that thing. I didnt use the cupholder (well, rarely atleast) hardly EVER used snack trays, the basket was large, but I certainly didnt need that either. Evenutally the wheels began to fall off, and we had enough, after only TWO MONTHS.

>So we finnally purchased the Jeep, it had just the bare neccesities, and I found that to be just fine for us.

>First of all, this stroller is very lightweight. I can carry it into the trunk of my van, or my husbands car, upstairs, up hills, where ever, such a relief! It takes two hands to fold, or a hand and a foot... it folds well and small, easy to fit packages around it, even if you are lacking space in your trunk. Its also easy to manuver. I found that turning it and pushing it couldnt be easier. It turns surprizingly well, and the wheels are pretty tough! It rides smoothly on any indoor surface, and can handle playgrounds, zoos, sidewalk/street, and even the boardwalk or gravel! But I really wouldnt plan to take this on "rocky terrain", its not a stroller to go hiking with, but certainly can be a city, subarb, or rural stroller. I found the handles to be at the perfect hieght for me and my husband, although we are average hieght... try it out at the store before you purchase (but there is a nifty stroller accessory that you can but to attatch to the handles, and offers a new set thats about 2 inches taller). The stroller seats are large enough for a 6 year old, but are also able to hold my premies easily. The vinyl is a bit slippery, but the boys dont slip to the end, and the shape makes it easy for them to sit in it. Its also SUPER easy to wipe up the seats, which is excellent with babies! I also found that the roll up feature was great, you can roll up the vinyl into a "pillow" and it reveals a mesh side for those warmer days. The seats also reqline indepentantly and easily. Definatly not fully, but enough to get in a good nap. I also found that the stroller fits through most any doorway, the only troubles we have had were/are with bathroom doors/stall doors, revolving doors (not much of a surprize) and small boutique like shops (flower shops and smaller "markets"), but other than that it can fit through most any door.

>These are the features that are not found in this stroller, but not nearly a CON, just something you can work around. First of all there arent snack trays for the kids. We either give them finger foods that they can hold (i.e teething cookies, grahm crackers, grains like bread and cookies, and other clean foods) or we will give them Cheerios in zip lock bags, and only open it enough to get a hand in (we use the one with the "sliding ziper" and just staple at the part where we dont want it to open anymore) this is easy for the kids (almost 10 months) to hold and not a big deal if dropped (smaller hole means less likely to make a mess). Or you can purchase an accessory kit that will come with a snack tray... With the lack of a cupholder for the parents, we either place a water bottle (filled with any beverage) in one of the smaller pockets, or we use this water bottle that we bought a CVS (drugstore) for about $5 that has an insulated cover with a handle to hang on the handles.

>There are 3 problems that we have faced with it though. First of all the canopys are completely ridiculous. They dont cover a baby at all, but I will say, in their defense, that they certainly arent too low, so we just purchased a black add on shade, something we keep in the trunk or the closet, so if we go out on a sunny day we can just attatch it... good thing the jeeps canopies are removable! I dont mind the lack of storage, but its definatly still a "downfall". There are two pouches on the sides, one holds our drinks (sippies and water bottles) and we were able to put an icepack inside to keep them cold. The other pouch is great for storing keys, cellphones, wallets, "binkys" (a.k.a pacifires), and a few knick-knacks. I also was able to purchase two mesh baskets to hang on the handles, and attatch to the back so it doesnt sway. I am able to place a vinyl bag (very thin may I add, one you can find at Modells or something) and it holds our baby bag supplies. The other is great for blankets and such, those bags are easy to find... so that really shouldnt be a problem. You can also keep "light weight" bags on the handles. I mean that you can only keep a maximum of about 6 lbs on the handles, so dont go shopping alone with this stroller (which I dont do anyway, I always go with SOMEONE, I dont know of anyone who does extensive shopping with two toddlers any how).

>But my only real CON is that theres a lap belt for the kids rather than a 5 point. As of now its proved sufficent. The boys dont climb out or fall out, but it probably will eventually pose a problem. I have looked for a solution, or a way to rig up extra shoulder straps... so if anyone has any ideas would you be kind enough to post them? Or else my husband will most-likely be able to figure out something.

>I hope that my review has helped you with your decision, whether to buy it or to decide against it. I feel that if you want an easy to use, lightweight, comfortable, simple stroller, this is for you. But if you would like the extras like 5 cupholders (exageration), large canopies, snack trays, large baskets, and 5 point harnesses (wish this stroller had one!) than purchase another stroller, which is fine also. But I would DEFINATLY recomend trying a stroller out in the stroller with your children, or if they are unborn, a friend or families child... But in our opinion, its a great stroller.
Best baby purchase we've ever made!
We love this double "umbrella" stroller by Jeep!

>We have a 10-year old and used both the umbrella type and regular large type with him. Either one was OK for 1 child, but the umbrella was much easier to use.

>We now have 3-month old twin boys and being 10 years older ourselves, the larger double stroller we were given as a gift was a monster for me! I now have sciatic nerve problems from the pregnancy and that thing is so HARD to put together, haul around and pick up in & out of the car - it must weigh a good 50 pounds or more! We are thankful and grateful to the person that gave it to us and I'm sure that later on when we take longer trips and need more storage space that it will be very useful. For now, because of the back problems and the need to get in & out of places quickly, we opted for the lighter umbrella type.

>After much research (and reading the rave reviews here for this stroller), we went for it and we're glad we did. This stroller is so EASY to get up & go, it's lightweight (I can push it with one hand) and the twins really enjoy getting out in it. The fact that the seats lay down or sit up individually is nice (will probably be a major need in the future). And it maneuvers VERY easily. My older son was "testing it out" (minus babies of course) and was doing doughnuts & wheelies quite effortlessly.

>The only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars is the storage issue. It came with 2 small snap-on bags, which is nice for keys, maybe a wallet and some binkies for a walk around the block. But there's no storage for a bottle or two or a blanket on cool summer eve's. (I knew this ahead of time and am devising some way to make some pockets to velcro on for the other items I mentioned to carry.)

>It would be nice too if maybe the handles were a tad taller. My husband & I are tall and have long legs and I noticed tonight that quite often my feet bump into the back wheels. Longer handles might eliminate this, but all in all, WE LOVE THIS STROLLER.
