Designed for infants and babies who weigh between 5 and 20 pounds, this SnugRide infant car seat is equipped with the LATCH restraint system. In a car manufactured after September 2002, the car seat can be secured with its built-in LATCH restraints, or, in an older car, the vehicle's rear seat belts can be used to secure the seat. In both cases, the SnugRide should always be secured in the rear-facing position. In addition to its handsome Saratoga print, the SnugRide sports some intelligent design and safety features, including an ergonomic handle with a rubber grip; a retractable nylon canopy that offers some protection from sun, wind, and rain; and a separate plastic base that can be left in your vehicle for quick installations. my favorite carseat!
well frankly i love this car seat. the colors are great. the straps are better than the previous two that i owned. the base TILTS BACKWARDS TO KEEP THE BABIES HEAD FROM FLOPPY FORWARD! so that it fits nicely in my navigator middle or back seat. washes well. and maintains its shape. very good infant car carrier. cant think of anything i would change about it.

I like some of the features while others I didn't
There are some things I like about this carseat. The umbrella is nice cause you can adjust it in many positions so you can keep the sun out of your baby's eyes, I like how you can adjust the handle, (buttons are on the back side of it instead of the front making it easier), and its easy to adjust the lenght of the strapes. My baby was really small and didn't fit in the car seat very well, we have a '94 accord and when we put the car seat in the middle it makes the baby sit up too much and her head would fall forward, the rain put spots on the umbrella. So it is a good carseat but there are some things that I didn't like about it.

Mom rear-ended a semi, babies never woke up!
Yes, I am afraid to admit, I was in a car accident last week and rear ended a semi-truck. My first worry was my two 6 month twin baby boys in the back seat. Before looking at the car, I ran to the back seat to check on them. They were snoring like you couldn't imagine. I will have to destroy them though per the new law in California, but it certainly made me feel better knowing that they had no idea what danger they could have been!!!!
