Customer Reviews of RealMyst (Mac)
iMac owners: BEWARE! If you have an older mac with a video or graphics card that is less then 16 MB, this game will not run on your mac. I have a slot-loading iMac G3 and I did not find out until I tried to play the game that my graphics card was not powerful enough. While the game still plays, just about everything is turned a pink color and most of the scenery is partially transparent. This makes game play very difficult and frustrating and at least one age is impossible to play. If you've got a 16+ MB graphics card, then go for it. This game is very fun. But if you're not sure or you don't, then don't bother.
Not so much
really the game just isn't all that great to begin with. So when thy come out with the remake of the it and then add somemore levels and better graphics, you might think it is good? Wrong.
It's nice to go back...
It's funny what ten years of technology can do to an idea. I know people are tired of new versions of Myst (Masterpiece Edition, Special Edition, DVD, sequels, etc.) but this one really the best. If your computer can push the pixels the game really moves ahead of the pack. It looks great, even compared with the more recent rerendered versions. It gives you a genuine sense of place that was missing from previous attempts, and it runs on my old G3 Mac.
