Great lens -- illogical review
Here's some basic facts about digital cameras and lenses

>1) One lens is not going to be capatible with every camera or camcorder. Why? Well, too many variables are at stake to ask for perfect results with each combination. There's such things as what kind of chip technology does the camera use, the type of light sensor, the type of lens, etc... When your camera/camcorder was being made by Company X, they were not concerned with making it work well with auxliary lenses NOT made by Company X. So, when you wonder why a third-party lens doesn't work with your camera made by a different company, the company that made your camera is not liable, nor is the manufacturer of the third-party lens. I have a Canon Powershot S2 IS and the Raynox DCR-6600 Pro works amazingly well with it. No vignetting, minimal barrel distortion, sharp at full telephoto. I got lucky. But I do not for one second believe that people at Canon, nor at Raynox made their respectives products with each other in mind. Therefore, you cannot call Raynox customer service and truly expect them to feel like they 'owe' you something. That's just illogical.

>2) You cannot expect a third-party lens that has been discontinued by its parent company to work with a NEW model of camera. Just because your camera is new and features cutting-edge technology doesn't mean that that old lens, which was made BEFORE your camera's technology was widely available or even in existance, is going to work well. Seriously.

>3) If your thinking about purchasing an auxilliary or conversion lens for your camera/camcorder, do your research. There are plenty of reviews out there where someone has already tried lens a with camera b. That's how I found out that the Raynox was a good match for my camera. When hundreds of dollars are at stake, assuming anything is folly.

>Having said all that, I love this lens. It works better for my camera than the one the wide-angle conversion lens that Canon made specifically for my camera. I hardly have to do any retouching to my photos because there just isn't that much barrel distortion at all. Canon's lens is just slightly sharper at full tele-photo, but I didn't get a wide-angle lens just for it's tele performance.
Fantastic wide angle lens at a low price
I don't know what the other reviewer's issue is, but he is obviously not, by his own admission, reviewing the product in question. This is a great add-on lens of very high quality, with almost no distortion or chromatic aberration. It is also very robustly built. It takes fantastic wide angle shots attached to my Panasonic FZ20 camera. And it costs less than any competitor. Buy it!
